Your absence, My decay

Your absence like torrid flames,
It burns away my flesh,
It torments my body,
the body that once was yours
for you to take and plunder
vessel and essence your possession
disregarded now and left to whither
wilt alone in the loneliness of your wake
your tender voice once soothed my torment
now it fuels the decaying of my heart
Your laughter still echoes in my isolation
each giggle rips my heart even further apart
each sigh shredding my sanity a little more
with you gone my reason to live ceased to be
and with it vanished the thought of you and me
I may decay and crumble among the ruins of us
but my heart remains yours to hold and crush.
