Here I am falling deeper into the abyss
Distance growing between I and bliss
With every day I live my grave sinks deeper
Soul no longer my own, a heart no longer mine
One half is forever yours for the taking
The other half already taken and yet,
You fail to see the misery that is me
You refuse to see the cracks in my mask
Deny my silent anguished screams
Ignore that I have surrendered to you
A wild beast I am, tamed by your words
I did not want to be stubborn
I did not try and push you away
Believe me when I say it's a struggle
To try and hold on to you every day
But I try and I try, it's never enough
You want to be loved by me well,
This is the only way I know how to love
I've shown you the scars on my skin
Revealed the truths of my soul
And shared the tears I never spill
But you still feel it isn't enough
That I shut you out of my life
The words all dried out
MY tears have run out
Apologies I made
Fly with the wind
Just as I looked away
I'll try one last time
And ask you
Will you please stay?
