Chapter 16

~•Aphmau's POV•~
It's been a week since the accident and I haven't left Laurance's side yet. Other than to shower, to eat and other stuff like that. I spend most of the time watching TV, Scrolling through Instagram and Twitter and watching Laurance, praying to Irene he wakes up soon. Laurance's room was filled with flowers and Balloons from everyone that visited. Mostly everyone in our friends group visited. Katelyn, Jeffory, Garroth, Dante, Kawaii~Chan, Nicole, Cadenza, Travis, and Vylad all visited Laurance in the hosptal. After the night that Amber left she never came into contact with us. We were all worried about her but Travis said that she had moved and wouldn't be able to talk to any of us for a while. Aaron hadn't visited yet and I was starting to worry, he knew about Laurance and said he would visit some time soon.
"Oh, h-hey Aphmau" I heard a shaky voice say from the door. I turned to see Aaron at the door. He was looking at the ground he had his red mask on covering his eyes. He had stopped wearing that thing when him and Lily started dating, so why is he wearing it now?
"A-aaron, are you ok?" I asked. He looked up from the ground I saw his cheeks were tear stained. I gasped and quickly walked over to Aaron.
"Aaron what happened? Why were you crying?" I asked worried. I took off his mask and looked him in his eyes. They were red and bloodshot from crying. He looked at me and closed his eyes, he began to lightly sob. I wrapped my arms around him and he tightly hugged me back sobbing into my shoulder.
"Aphmau... Lily broke up with me..." He whimpered. It was hard seeing Aaron like this because he is my friend, but I'm glad he trusts me enough to show me this side of him. Aaron an I parted from the hug and sat down to talk. After a while of talking Aaron thanked me and I told him it was no problem and if he ever needed to talk I'd be there. With that he left with a small smile on his face. I smiled to myself and went over to Laurance's bed side again and held his hand. I kissed his forehead than scrolled through Instagram with my free hand. I heard a knock on the door. I turned and looked to see Garroth. Him and Cadenza had been coming everyday, most of the time at the same time. But this was the second time Garroth had visited today.
"Hey." I said.
"Hey..." He replied walking into the room. He had a 'get well soon' balloon with him so he tied it to Laurance's bedpost. He pulled up a chair and sat right next to Laurance.
"How is he?" He asked.
"The same as usual" I answered.
"Cadenza told me what you said the day of the accident. Is it true?" He said. I blushed and looked at him embarrassed.
"Y-yea..." I replied smiling at Laurance.
"He likes you too." Garroth said with a chuckle "A lot." He added. I smiled at Laurance.
"I should probably get going. Its getting late" Garroth said.
"Ok" I said "I'll see you tomorrow." I got up and gave Garroth a hug goodbye. He squeezed me tightly. Then let go. He smiled at me then left. I sat back down next to Laurance and held his hand in mine. I laid my head down and slowly dozed off to another restless night's sleep.

~•Time skip to morning•~

I wake up to the feeling of someone stroking my head. I look up and see Laurance sitting up in the bed looking at me with a small smile.
"Good morning, beautiful" He said smiling.
"Laurance!" I yelled jumping up. Tears of joy streamed down my face as I pulled him into a tight embrace.
"Laurance, you're awake! I missed you so much. Please, promise, you won't leave me ever again." I said. He smiled.
"I promise" He said with a smile. I smiled at him and gently placed my lips on his. He kissed back and I could feel him smile through the kiss. I pulled away and nuzzled my head against his neck gently. He kissed the top of my head his arms still wrapped around me.
"I love you..." I whispered. He held onto my shoulders and put me in front of him. He looked into my eyes, with an expression of happiness, confusion, and shock. I smiled at him and he smiled back quickly pulling me back into a tight embrace.
"I love you too, Aphmau" He said. Soon the doctor came in, interrupting our moment.
"Ah, I see your finally awake, Laurance" The doctor said smiling at Laurance and I who were still hugging. We broke from the hug but Laurance still held my hand.
"Y-yea, h-how long was I asleep?" He asked. The doctor looked up from his clipboard.
"About a week" The doctor said. Laurance looked shocked.
"A week?!" Laurance said. I nodded.
"Do you remember what happened?" I asked, squeezing Laurance's hand.
"Yea, I remember blacking out and everything." He replied. The doctor nodded and wrote down a few things on his clipboard.
"We need to run a few tests but you'll be out by tomorrow. We suggest you stay in bed for a while." The doctor said. Laurance and I nodded. The doctor then walked out. I looked over to Laurance who was deep in thought.
"Hey, are you okay?" I asked in a soft tone. He shook his head.
"I'm just being hit with a wave of emotion right now. I was shot in the leg, I've been in a coma for a week, and the woman I love just told me she returned those feelings." He said looking up from his bed. I blushed. I looked at the ground.
"I'm so sorry..." I whispered as a tear rolled down my face. He put his hand against my cheek wiping away the tear.
"You don't have to apologize, Aphmau. You did nothing wrong." He said with a warm smiled. I weakly smiled back.
"I should've been there..." I said, a tear rolling down my cheek. He pulled me into a hug.
"Aphmau, I'm a security guard. When I took the job I knew something might happen to me. I did it to protect the people in the store. Especially you." He said.
"I love you so much..." More tears escaped my eyes, no longer tears of sadness but tears of joy. I finally have my love back and no one is ever gonna take him from me, ever again. He gently wiped the tears away with his hand.
"I love you too, Aph" He replied. We were interrupted by the sound of squealing. I turned around to see Cadenza holding up her phone. I quickly backed away from Laurance and laughed nervously.
"Cadenza? How much of that did you see?" I asked a bit of embarrassment in my voice.
"Only all of it. I also recorded half" She said cheerfully. Laurance chuckled and I giggled nervously.

~•Laurance's POV•~
"I'll leave you two to catch up" Aph said grabbing her coat and phone to leave.
"No, please don't go." I said grabbing her hand making a childish pouty face. She smiled and kissed me on the cheek.
"I'll be back when you guys are finished catching up. I promise." She said with a warm smiled.
"Fine" I said with an exaggerated frown. She smiled and began to walk out of the room.
"I'll see you in a bit, my love" I smiled at her and she blushed walking out of the room. She closed the door behind her. There was silence for a while as I stared at the door smiling at the thought of Aph.
"You really love her, don't you?" Cadenza asked, breaking the silence.
"I love her more than words can describe" I replied. My large grin dying down to a small smiled.
"Heh." Cadenza chuckled.
"What's so funny?" I asked.
"I asked Aphmau the same question the day of the accident" She said with a smile creeping onto her face.
"What was her response?" I asked curiously.
"She just whispered 'So much...' And stared at you with a romantic smile" She said looking at me with a smirk. I chuckled and laid my head against the headboard, smiling.
"She stayed with you every single day you'd been here." She began "never leaving your side. Of course she must've left to shower and eat but every time one of us would visit she would be sitting at your side holding your hand. Hoping you'd wake up soon." Cadenza said. I grinned.
"So, she really does love me." I sighed relieved.
"More than you could ever imagine..." A familiar voice said behind Cadenza. Cadenza turned around and moved away from blocking my sight to the doorway. Aphmau stood leaning on the door frame.
"Ahem, I'm sorry. I know I said that I'd leave you two alone but I accidentally took Laurance's phone instead of mine" She said walking in the room. She handed me my phone.
"Its no problem. We were just finished talking anyways," Cadenza said with a smile. "I'm actually glad you came back because there is something I wanted to talk to you two about" She quickly added.
"Is something wrong?" Aph asked Cadenza.
"No, well, kinda. I'm going on a business trip for a few days and I'm leaving tomorrow morning. So I won't be able to take care of Laurance." Cadenza explained.
"I can take care of myself, Cadenza." I testified. Cadenza shook her head.
"Laurance, you can't walk because you were shot in the leg and you just got out of a coma. You need someone to take care of you." Cadenza said arguing my point.
"I can take care of him" Aph said.
"He can stay at my place, he already basically lives there." She said with a giggle.
"Great! Then its settled, I won't have the time to visit before I leave tomorrow morning so I'll have to say my goodbyes now." Cadenza walked over to me and gave me a hug.
"I hope you get better soon, Laurance" She said. I smiled.
"I will" I replied. She smiled then hugged Aph.
"Please, take good care of him for me" Cadenza told Aph. She nodded.
"I promise" Aph smiled. Cadenza walked out of the room shutting the door behind her. Aph walked over to the chair next to me and sat down. I laid down and put my head on the pillow. I rolled over to my side and faced Aph. She grabbed my hand and held it with both of hers.
"You should go home, and get some sleep" I told her. She smiled at me.
"I've slept here every single night since the accident. I think I can handle just one more." She said with a smiled. I smiled at her. Of course I didn't actually want her to go, I was just trying to be nice.
"Well, at least come lay in the bed with me. Its way more comfortable than a chair" I winked. She giggled and got up. I scoot over on the bed and pulled the blanket down so she had a place to lay down. This hospital bed was definitely made for only one person. Oh well, it'll give me an excuse to pull her closer. I thought. She laid down on the bed and pulled the blanket over herself. She laid her head on my chest and wrapped he arms around me. I could feel her soft, cool hands touch my bare back. There is a slit in the back of this hospital gown isn't there... And I don't have any underwear. Aph removed her hands from around my waist.
"Laurance, why can I feel your bare back?" She asked nervously. I chuckled.
"I'm wearing a hospital gown." I replied simply.
"Do people wear underwear underneath hospital gowns...?" She asked nervously. The pink blush on her face turning to a bright fuchsia. I wrapped my arms around her and moved my face closer to hers.
"Nope..." I whispered with a smirk on my face. Her face turned a dark crimson color. I kissed her on the forehead and she laid her head against my chest. I laid my head on hers.
"Good night, my love" I whispered before we both drifted off into a deep, sound, dream filled sleep.
