Sitting in a quiet room
But I do not feel alone
The silence that surronds me
Is my friend
It holds me close
In the night
It makes everything okay
When it is around me
I am safe
Safe from the yelling
The fighting
The endless nightmare
Of another day
Sometimes I want to join the silence
So that I can be safe always
I have tried
But I have failed
One day I will be silent
But I guess that day
Is not today
