The queen will rise again

Terra was sitting in the lunch room with Josh on one side and Amie on the other. They were arguing back and forth and Terra thought her head would explode if they didn’t quit.

“I want to go to the lake house!” Amie screeched loudly.

“Well we are just not you!” Josh retorted sticking his tongue out. Finally having enough of it Terra scooted away from the table and took off to her locker. If they wanted to act like two year olds then fine let them.

The last two weeks had been amazing and Terra wouldn’t change them for the world. After Josh and Amie had told her everything she felt closer to them than ever. Josh was amazing, more so than Terra could ever imagine. The day after Josh confessed everything he took Terra out on their first official date. She still couldn’t help the blush that rose to her face when she thought about how sweet he was.

Being with Josh felt like it was meant to be. Terra knew it sounded cliché but it was true. He made her feel like a princess. When he asked Terra to go to the lake house with him during spring break she didn’t think twice before saying yes. What she didn’t count on was Amie freaking out and wanting to go to.

“Terra! Please wait I’m sorry!” Josh yelled screaming after her. Terra stopped and waited for him to catch up.

“I am sorry. I know we are acting like children and if Amie wants to go then she can.” Josh said looking at Terra as if she was the only girl in the world.

“How about we compromise, we can go up a day early and spend the whole day and night together and Amie can come up the next day and we can all hang out then. She can even bring Jeremy.”

Josh thought about it for and minute and then grinned. “Deal!” he kissed Terra and took off back to the lunch room doing a little corny fist pump and jumped in the air. Terra couldn’t help but laugh. He was such a dork.

The day went by fast after that and Terra was stuck waiting outside in the car for Josh. she didn’t know what was taking him so long. He had sent her a text telling her to wait for him that he had got stuck in the library with some homework but wouldn’t take that long. Amie had left already with Jeremy and Almost an hour had passed. Deciding to go and find him herself she left her backpack in the car and walked back up to the school.

The hallways were almost creepy empty and Terra couldn’t wait to find Josh so she could get the hell out of here. She planned on letting him completely claiming her tomorrow night at the Cabin and she was excited to get home so she could get her stuff ready.

As she walked into the library she found no one there and decided to walk around to the tables in the back in case he was back there. As she got closer she heard faint whispers.

“Why are you with that troll? You know I would be a better mate.” Terra recognized the voice as Stacy’s the girl who dared her at the party a few months ago. 

“You are nothing but a slut. Please get the hell away from me.” Josh hissed and Terra couldn’t helo but feel proud that he was sticking up for her.

“But Joshy that’s not what you said a few weeks ago.” Stacy purred and Terra’s whole body went stiff. She thought about the night Josh came home and they watched movies.

“That was before I realized Terra was my mate. All you were was a passing fling, and a bad one at that.” Josh said and Terra heard his footsteps start to get louder as he got nearer. When he saw her his eyes grew wide.

“Terra! Please let me explain!” Terra didn’t wait she took off running out of the library and down the halls. When she made it outside she went straight to the woods. She needed to clear her head. As she ran deeper into the woods she couldn’t help but feel funny and her vision began to blur. Suddenly her side burst with pain and she felt as though all her bones were breaking one by one. 

Terra let out a scream and fell to the ground. The pain wouldn’t ease but her vision began coming in and out and it was starting to get clearer. Everything seemed much too loud and she felt like her head would explode. Her senses were on fire as she lay on the ground writhing in pain. 

Just before she blacked out she saw Josh run up to her in his wolf form and he shifted beside her. 

“Terra baby, its ok, your shifting. You need to relax your body.” He said all this as he pulled his phone out.

“Dad I need you to come to the woods outside the school. I don’t know how its possible but Terra is shifting. She is changing right before my eyes. Come quick.”

Josh hung up his phone and watched Terra with tears in his eyes. “Shhh it will be over soon. You need to relax your body.”

The last thing Terra saw before blacking out from the pain was Adam Josh’s dad running up and calling for someone.

Terra heard breathing beside her. It was louder than usual and she opened her eyes to see Josh sitting next to her. Terra had never felt this fit in her life. She could barely remember the pain as she lay there and her legs felt like they could run for days.

“Good morning beautiful.” Josh whispered rubbing the side of her muzzle. Wait muzzle. Terra looked down and started to freak out. She was a huge dog. How the hell was this possible. She was not supposed to be a wolf. She was human God damnitt!

“It’s ok. You need to relax and will yourself to change. Just close your eyes and think about being human. Think about having arms and legs. Terra did as she was told and felt a weird tingling sensation run through her body. She felt the atmosphere shift around her and when she opened her eyes Josh was staring at her with lust in his eyes. Slowly he stood up and grabbed a robe before throwing it at her.

“Pease put this on before I do something stupid.” Terra blushed at his words. When she was dressed she went to the bathroom to splash water on her face and she could not believe what she saw. Her eyes were a bright silver color and her hair had a long white streak down the front. Before she knew what she was doing she ran downstairs to where Josh was sitting with Amie and their parents Adam and Sarah.

“What the hell is wrong with me?” she screeched probably giving Amie a run for her money at the moment.

Josh patted the seat next to him and Terra hesitantly took it.

“Nothing is wrong with you. You’re a wolf. You are one of a kind.” Terra didn’t understand what he was talking about. Josh looked at his dad and Adam walked to the office and grabbed a very old book and handed it to his son.

“Wolfs have been around for thousands of years. No one knows why or how we came to be but we do know we started from two wolfs. They were the first full blooded wolfs. There is a prophecy that says the first girl born to the blood line will rule them all and bring order back to the packs. This She wolf is said to have powers no other wolf can compare to. The blood line was hidden years ago and no one knew if the heir would ever resurface. But she has. That is why you changed without being fully mated. The wolf gene inside of you was dormant. When you were angry and took off running something must have snapped inside of you. You’re the lost queen.”

Terra didn’t know what to say. There was no way she was this heir. It was impossible her parents were human. Weren’t they?
