A walk down the shore

Shinji's p.o.v

My close friend Lotus and I just moved to this place that goes by the name Beach City. Placing my shades onto my eyes I thought. I didn't really like people looming at my eyes. Especially since people could just tell I was blind by a simple glance to my eyes. You see back in Japan random people would just beat me up for simply being blind. I mean it isnt my fualt that I was born without sight. A sigh left my lips as I nervously held onto my dog Lucy's leash. Lucy was super excited sitting nect to me. Her super fluffy tail hitting the side of my leg in her excitement. Placing my hand on the dogs head I lookrd st her smiling nervously. "Hey Shinji." Lotus said softly to get my attention. Taking a moment my head slowly moved over to the source of the sound. "Ya Lotus?" I questioned while raising a brow. "I'm going to unpack everything into the house. Why don't you go sniffing out some food... and maybe memorize the paths around  so you don't get lost super frequently.... Also you don't have to be nervous. The people here are nice." Lotus said as she placed a hand on my hand.

Carefully rubbing the back of my hand with her thumb. Lotus came to Beach City before one time for a vacation. The town is small so there aren't a lot of people who would want to willingly hurt me wouldn't really do much since there should be a bunch of adults who would stop them. She told me that everyone is pretty friendly. Sure some of them are a bit rude, but not by much. "Good idea.... Lucy could use the walk anyways." Softly hummed as I started to pet Lucy. The truck came to a stop and we all got out. The salt air filling my nose. The grass under my feet felt nice as well. Our home was a decent distance away from town because Lotus had the place specially built for us. I didn't really like wearing shoes because I loved feeling the ground. We then made out way to the beach. It was a bit before we made it to the beach. Smiling softly at the soft sand as it squished under my feet.

As we walked along the beach something in the sand poked my foot. "Ouch." Grumbling softly as I brought my foot up. Rubbing it in confusion. Carefully bending down I felt through the sand, before grabbing the item and feeling it in my hand. The item was smooth all around. Flat on the back and had a spike like thing on the top. It felt like a diamond. Placing the item in my pocket and thinking about the item I found. Soon my feet felt some type of wood. Which was most likely a path. So we walked down the wooden board walk. Lucy softly barked at a seagul as it cried a us. "Relax Lucy... The seagul is flying." I chuckled softly and stopped sniffing the air. "Oooh." Humming softly as I picked my lips. The sent of donuts filling the air. Making my mouth water at the sweet sents. Following the smell we made it to a building. Lucy lightly tugging at the leash as I held it. Letting me know that there was now a door in front of me.

Smiling happily I outstretched my free arm and tried to pull the door. Blinking a little before pushing it open. "I forget that most doors are push door here." Rubbing the back of my neck we walked in. 'How could I completely forget that simple fact that Lotus told me?' My mind questioned, before being snapped out of my thoughts by someone talking to me. "Hello welcome to the Big donut. I'm Sadie. How can I help you?" The female voice questioned. Her voice filled with a happy joyfilled tone. "Konichiwa. I'm Shinji." Smiling happily as I rested a hand on the counter. Lucy wagged her tail as she laid on the floor by my feet. Waiting for me to finish and go. "Konicjiwhat?" The girl questioned in confusion and gave a small laugh as she tried to understand what I just said. "Oh right. Sorry about that. You see me and my friend are from Japan and we just moved here. So I'm getting use to not always speaking Japanese where ever I go. Konichiwa means Hi in Japanese."

I nervously explained, and looked down bringing my free hand up to my face and lightly nibbling on the skin that was around my nail on my pointer finger. "Hey don't worry about it. After all it's nice to meet new people. Now who's your adorably fluffy friend on the floor?" Sadie questioned and smoled down at Lucy. "Oh her name is Lucy." Smiling again I glanced down to where I knew Lucy was and crouched down to pet my fuzzy snowball of a dog. "Cool. So you said you just moved here?" She questioned and watched me. Not really in any rush. "Correct. Oh um there are these donuts me and mt frkend Lotus love. Their called lemon cherries. Like lemon flavored donuts with cherry filling. Do you have any?" I questioned while raising a brow as my hand went into my pocket to grab some cash. "Why yes. We do have a few of those donuts. In fact their fresh from the oven."

She hummed softly as she pulled out what sounded to be a big and grabbed some paper. The crumbling paper wrapped around the donuts as she moved them from the rack to the box one at a time till the box was full. "And that is 12." She happily hummed as she closed the box and pushed it towards me. "How much do I owe you?" I questioned as I pulled a few dollars out "None at all. It's on the house since your new and all." She explained happily as she walked around the counter. "Why thank you. Your too kind." I softly giggled, and smiled at Lucy. " Hey. Mind if I pet your dog?" She questioned, and stood by Lucy. "Sure. But be warned. Lucy is a ninja licker." A chuckle left my lips as Lucy sat up. "Alright." She chuckled to me. Lucy waged her tail even more. Sadie hummed as she crouched down, and started to pet Lucy. "Ah! Your right.... she's a ninja licker." She laughed happily as Lucy kept licking her face.

"Yeah. She loves to do that." I hummed and picked up the box of donuts. "Come on Lucy. Let's go girl." Smiling softly as the Lucy got up onto her paws. Tail wagging in joy. "Alright. Please come again." Sadie giggled as she walked off. "Bye well see you later." I smiled softly as we walked out the door. As we walked down the beach I felt the item that was in my pocket wondering what the thing was. As we made out way their I could feel the sand slowly changing into grass before walking up to the house. "Heya Shinji. I just finished unpacking. Oh I see you got donuts." Lotus softly chuckled as she walked up to me. "Yes. Yes I did. Oh which reminds me. I found this thing on the beach. Mind telling me what it is?" I questioned while raising a brow. Before I could ou'll the item out I felt around our new home.

Looking for a place to put the donuts down. Lotus helped me out, while unleashing Lucy for me. "Thanks." A small giggle left my lips. "No problem. Now let's see this item you fround." She hummed as I placed the box of donuts down. Slowly nodding I pulled the item out of my pocket and showed it to her. "No way! That a Jasper! With a flat base in a diamond cut. Shinji you gonna keep It? Cause if your not.  Could make some fine jewellery out of it." She hummed hinting to wanting to have it for herself. Though I shook my head and placed it back into my pocket. "I'm going to keep it if you don't mind. I'm also going to keep it the way it is.... um mind showing me to my room, before showing me to the bathroom? I wanna take a shower but I still done know the full layout of our new home." Rubbing the back of my neck I nervously took my shades off and placed them on what I believe to be the counter.

"Oh sure thing Shinji." She smiled happily and took my arm leading me to my room, and walked out. "Get into your bathrobes. I'll lead you to the bathroom once you done." She closed the door behind her, and went off to do something else. Nodding a little to myself I pulled the gem out and placed it on the nightstand next to my bed. "So many questions little gem. Yet so few answers." I hummed to the gemstone, while talking to mostly myself as I undressed and got into my bathrobes. Once I changed into my bathrobes Lucy helped me to the bathroom so I could take a nice warm shower.
