The Zoo

I know this chapter is a little weird but hey let's just roll with it.

Topaz's p.o.v

I thought as I silently glanced at the humans that i had captured in my body. Most of them were struggling while one of them wasn't. They were oddly calm. So calm that it felt so very very weird. I thought as I glanced down at that one human. The human was silent. Not making a single sound. Acting as if nothing was wrong. In a way it was kind of creepy. This human probably thinks that nothing is wrong. Though to maybe they're defective. Would the diamond's even care if the human was defective? Or would they not care and just have a Peridot try to fix her. "Topaz once we get to the Zoo we should have Blue diamond look at that human. The one that's carrying smaller humans." Aquamarine said as she was sitting up in her seat. I kept silent since I was scared to say a word to her.

But the human wasn't scared. "Why do they have to listen to you? You've been doing nothing but give orders. She can do whatever she wants and doesn't have to listen to you at all." The human simply said as she stared at nothing. I still kept silent for many many reasons. Though this human wasn't scared at all for some reason. I mean Aquamarine would have me kill her if she wanted to, and yet..... She's not scared of her. Not scared of me. Sure she could be hiding it. Even if she was I know this. She's much braver then I might ever be. "What was that?" Aquamarine questioned in a low voice as she looked down at me to look at the human. "You heard me. This gem doesn't have to listen to you. It's easy for me to tell that the two gems that create this fusion are scared of you. Yet I know the greatest thing about fear." The human simply said.

That left Aquamarine in a frustrated confusion. Because she summoned her wings and flew down to look directly at the human. "And what is that you weak human?" Aquamarine questioned in annoyance. "That fear is the best straight to become stronger." The human said and hummed a little. “You only use the fear of others to make yourself appear much greater. When you’re only a scared little child.” They said. The human was so relaxed and calm. Aquamarine huffed and was frustrated. “Topaz unfuse and refuse. I don’t want to hear this human talk.” She ordered. So i nervously nodded and did as she ordered. Though when i glanced at the human they still weren’t scared. They were brave. When we got half way there the ship stopped as if it had broken down for a moment. “Great. That stupid fusion those crystal gems made must have messed with the engine. Topas go investigate.” Aquamarine said as she pulled up a screen to try and find what else could have been wrong.

I just simply nodded and went down to the engine to see what the problem could be. As i worked i heard the entrance to the ship open up for a moment before closing. Then it happened for a second time. Which confused me to no end because no one could open the ship unless they were Aquamarine. ‘Maybe she went out to see if there was any damage on the outside?’ Left Topaz said in my mind. ‘Maybe. Well if she’s out we can talk to the humans as we work.’ Right Topaz suggested as i worked in silence for a moment before glancing at the humans that were trapped in my body. “Hey um humans we’re sorry. Were just doing a ordered. We don’t want to be shattered.” I quietly explained to them incase Aquamarine came back in. My guess was that at first she was checking to make sure that the door was working before walking heading out. “Wait what?” One of the humans said.

I then looked down at the blond chubby human. “Y-Yeah. If a gem defects from their position they’re shattered and well you can already get the idea that it means death.” I whispered again as i finished up what i needed to do. “Well um… We’re sorry to hear that. Though Shinji over there is right. You don’t have to listen to them. Then again when i put your problem into perspective i guess you’re just doing your job.” They said as they thought more about it. “Shinji?” I whispered and tilted my head a little in confusion. “The human that was talking out to that short blue gem. You see she can’t see but she’s pretty good at understanding others. Um don’t let that blue one know that. Who knows what she’ll do to her.” They said worriedly for their friend. When i heard the door to the ship open again i became silent and started at the controls blankly. “Well Topaz look at who jumped onto the ship for rescue. Looks like Yellow diamond doesn’t have to worry about losing her perfect Quartz soldier.” Aquamarine smirked as she flew down here.

Once she said that i looked over surprised to see the Jasper that went missing. “Looks like she jumped on last second before we took off. She’s been hanging there ever since we left. Now you two be good i have a ship to fly.” Aquamarine hummed before flying out of the engine room. When she left i nervously stared at Jasper before slightly waving to her. “I know you can talk. No need to hide it with blueberry up there out of range.” Jasper said as she looked me over. “You have a point… Though i’d rather not get shattered by her.” I said and nervously tapped my fingers together. “Like that pipsqueak can do anything aside from throwing you around. Besides i’d rather not be here.” Jasper huffed as she walked around me. “Well i don’t want to be here either though you can’t really undo anything….. Also why didn’t you try contacting for help while you were on Earth?” I questioned as i watched her.

“Well between us i found something better than homeworld. Especially since i don’t exactly want to work for Yellow diamond. She isn’t my diamond and i don’t exactly like working for her.” Jasper huffed and grumbled something. “Oh that’s right. You can from Pink diamond’s court…. And well Earth is the planet you were made on.” I said quietly so i could prevent myself from talking any louder. “Well yeah. Plus the fact that well…..” She said and blushed a little. “.... You fell in love with someone didn’t you?” I softly chuckled. “Please tell us you weren’t cracked when you fell in love? Unlike what happened with you and Moonstone.” I smiled and slightly giggled even more. “Hey we agreed to never talk about that again. Plus my gem wasn’t cracked it was fully intact. Plus you wouldn’t even believe me if i told you.” Jasper said as she crossed her arms and rested a foot on the wall behind her.

“Oh come on. Please tell us. Quartz to quartz, to quartz, to well.. Humans.” I smiled excitedly to her. “Well to be honest it’s pretty stupid though one i got to know her it was pretty nice to be with her and well… She’s one of the humans you have fused between you two.” Jasper said blunty. She wasn’t even giving of a joking voice. Though i wasn’t mad at her. In Fact i was happy for her. She fell in love. Sure it was with a human but hey love is love. “Which one?” I smiled as i glanced the humans over. “Shinji. She has the same type of hair as me.” Jasper said as she ran a hand through her own hair. “... Wait she’s the one that talked out Aquamarine and wasn’t scared of her… You got a good one.” I smiled before looking down at Shinji.  “The ship will be landing soon… Yellow diamond won't be at the Zoo but Blue diamond will. You better be prepared in case you have to make a face to face report. Lie on any part if you must.” I said giving her a good warning.

Once i gave the warning we felt the ship land onto a type of surface. Jasper gave a nod before standing back up straight. I thought as i walked up the steps and looked at Aquamarine. “Alright Topaz. Unfuse and one of you take the humans to the Zoo entrance. Except for you Topaz i want you to escort Jasper and that… Odd human to Blue diamond. Then bring the human to the carrying section of the Zoo.” Aquamarine ordered. I just simply nodded as i unfused. Left topaz taking the normal humans while right Topaz took the silver haired human and Jasper with her.

Jasper’s p.o.v

I thought as i walked down the zoo halls. I’m glad that the Aquamarine didn’t remember me. When she said she saw a Jasper with a human i simply told her i was nowhere near any humans. I had to make that lie so i could get into the ship and get closer to Shinji. Plus it’s going to take me some time to even protect Shinji especially if i’m taken back to homeworld and i don’t want that. I thought as we walked down the halls. As we walked i glanced at some of the other beta gems and stopped as i looked at Skinny. “Skinny J is that seriously you?” I questioned as i looked at her. “Jasper? Great to see you again.” She smiled and walked over. I thought and whispered something to her. ‘Keep an eye on Shinji there if i’m taken to homeworld.’ I whispered. She then nodded before i ran over to Topaz and Shinji. Shinji felt around before nervously holding my hand.
