13) Step 3

"Oh my gog I'm really scared, Dave," you whimpered.

"Don't be," he clutched your hand, "we'll get through this together."

"Murder? We'll get through murder together?!"

The thought was constantly pulling at your mind.
Killing someone. For love!
So wrong, but you wanted it so bad...

"Yeah. We'll get through anything together," he kissed your forehead.

You took a deep breath and called Jade.

Jade! Step 2 is complete. <You

Oh? Excellent!

I'm not so comfortable with step 3 though.

Why ever not? It's just murder, I mean come on.

That's the problem. I've never murdered anyone before.

And neither have I.

The line went dead after some sinister laughing.
You shot Dave a worried glance.

"Dave?"
He looked at you.
"Dave I'm really scared. What if Jade's not... Jade?
"Don't worry," he took you in to hug you, "everything will turn out alright."

"Hey! Lisa!" Dave yelled across the lunchroom.
"What is it Davey boo?" She laughed, walking up to your table.
You had to gag. You hated her laugh and her walk. You hated her voice and the mere sound of her name.
You hated her.

"Yeah, I was wondering if," he took a deep breath, "youwouldliketogoonadatewithme?"

"I heard every word of that!" She screeched, "of course!"

She then turned to you, "And step off, (Y/N). He's mine. Forever!"

For now. While you're still breathing.

"So this is the spot!" Dave gestured to an open plain with a picnic table under a willow tree.

"Oh em squee!" Lisa laughed, "it's adorable! Just like you!"

Oh my gog. You'd never hated anyone more.

You could barely see them because you were hiding in the bushes while Jade was in the tree for the kill shot.
You were just the scout.

They walked over to the table and Dave flipped out a table cloth. They ate for maybe five minutes when your headset went off.

"(Y/N)? (Y/N) can you hear me?"

"Yeah, Jade, over."

"Great. I'm going in for the kill. Lisa is over."

You peeped through the bush and held your breath.
You heard Jade's steady breathing over the headset.

"One..."

You closed your eyes and inhaled the nature. It was pure. There were only four of you for miles around. Perfect for murder. Impure.

"Two..."

You thought of how great it would be to have Dave back for good. It reassured you. You smiled but the smile quickly faded when your mind came back to reality. You instantaneously recognized the gravity of the situation and your mouth formed the words before your mind.

"Stop!"

"Three."

You leaped from the bushes with the word still lingering upon your lips. Your eyes fixated on Lisa's silhouette as Jade tightened her trigger finger.

Bang.

Your world stood still for a moment as you watched chunks fly out of Lisa's head. You ran. You didn't stop till you reached the table.

"Dave?!"

"(Y/N)... We- we just killed someone," he was on the verge of tears.

"Step 3 complete," Jade swung down from the tree and passed out as she hit the ground.
