19) Midnight X 4

"Jack Noir-" Dave scowled.

"Hey, we can beat him, can't we?" You sat up.

"I don't know," Kanaya took her chainsaw, "but we can try."

The next few minutes were so fast.

First, Kanaya yelled and everyone else yelled and you all charged Jack.
Some damage was done, but not enough. He radioed the rest of the Midnight Crew for backup. Everyone was at a face off. Your palms were sweaty and your face was red.

"Dave- what if... What if we don't get out alive?" You asked, looking at the ground.

It was all beginning to blur from your tears.

"Listen to me, (Y/N), I can't promise you a lot but I can promise you one thing: if we die, I'll die right beside you. I wouldn't want it any other way," Dave looked you in the eyes.
You noticed his eyes were shining behind his shades and you took them off.

"Dave-"
He interrupted you with a kiss.
Madly blushing, you took his hand and said, "I love you so much Dave. Don't ever leave me."

" I never planned on it."

You smiled and gave his shades back.
"Three two-"
"One!" Jack jumped at you.

"Watch out!" You sat up, panting.
You were in a- hospital bed?!
What happened?

You stood, or at least you tried and a throbbing began in your side.
You plopped down and examined it.
You were cut. From the shoulder to the hip.
"God damn," you winced as your fingers brushed it.
Whether you were hurt or not- you had to find everyone else.

You stood up wobbly and exited your room.
"Dave? Jade? Anyone?" You called down the empty hallway.

"(Y/N)?" Your name echoed around the corner.

You smiled and slowly made your way around the corner.
"(Y/N), oh my gog you're okay!" It was Dave.
"Dave," a pleasant happiness overwhelmed you.
You fell into his arms.
"Ah," he winced.
"Sorry," you whispered, "I've been cut too."
"Nah, it's- it's okay," he breathed heavily as he sat down on the chair.

"Dave?" You asked.
His face was pale and so was yours.
"Dave?"
