Chapter 25: The Uchiha Siblings [Naruto]

Jazmine

Everyone still seemed in shock. The silence was a little unnerving and maybe even awkward. Most of the other ninja simply stood staring at the small pool of blood where Kabuto's body had been laying. It was as if just now everyone understood that this wasn't going to easy and some ninja could lose it, just like that. I mean Rin, unlike Sasuke, seemed pretty well off considering her circumstances. Even when she came back she smiled and laughed and reconnected with the gang almost as she had never left in the first place. She seemed pretty Rin-like and only Shikamaru, Sasuke and I could notice that something was little off about her. To be honest I was trying to set her off by ignoring her existence but after that match, well I'm glad it wasn't me. There's no way I would have survived that. It was a small cough that broke me from my thoughts and seemed to break everyone from their trance as we all looked to Hayate.

"Let's continue," He said simply and we all looked nervously to the screen as the names flashed rapidly at random. There was a small group of people I didn't want to fight at all. It included the sand ninja and Sasuke. I wasn't entirely sure what either was capable of and I didn't want to risk my neck.  The flashing names finally stopped and two stood clear and bright; Jazmine Haruno versus Banbu Shinjuka. I raised an eyebrow.

"Who?" I heard an annoyed sigh and looked at Ino.

"My cousin idiot, she was a last-minute addition to Kurenai sensei's team before the exams."

"Oh, is she any good?" She shrugged.

"I don't know, she's from a different branch of my family."

"Jazmine Haruno, take your place" I glanced down at the floor and there stood a short blonde that was staring up at me with curious light pink eyes. I felt a hand on my shoulder.

"Good luck Jazmine, I know you can win." Asuma sensei encouraged and with that bit of encouragement and a loud cheer from Sakura I jumped down to the main floor and walked to stand across from Banbu. I noticed the smile on her face but took more notice to the panda that sat a few feet away with unwavering eyes.

"Creepy" I muttered glancing at Hayate.

"Jazmine Haruno versus Banbu Shinjuka, are you ready?" I nodded and Banbu followed my actions.

"Then begin!"

Kakashi

To be bluntly honest I wasn't sure of Jazmine's abilities as a ninja. The Haruno clan wasn't known for anything special except for perfect chakra control but even that wasn't an advantage if she didn't know any jutsu to combine them with.

"Alright, Jazmine let's move it already!" Sakura shouted at her sister. As a student, Jazmine excelled in intelligence and battle strategy. Her Nin, gen and taijutsu were lacking but had a sharp mind that you really wouldn't think she would possess.  

"I don't want to play around," I noticed Jazmine sigh as she took a few steps back.

"Fine but after that battle, we're going to appear to be pretty pathetic." She said simply.

"It wasn't that great"

"Doesn't matter if it was great, it was still impressive." She responded almost bitterly. I noticed how her eyes moved, scanning the area not really focusing on anything. Banbu reached for her mallet and a smirk came to her lips.

"Well, this will be to." She shot forward suddenly and jumped up pulling her mallet off her back in the process and brought it down towards Jazmine. A loud crash echoed through the room as dust rose around them. When it cleared Jazmine was standing a few feet behind Banbu with an amused smile on her face.
