The next day when I woke up I freshened up and went down for breakfast there I saw two men sitting with Adrian and a woman. Adrian and the other two men seemed to be in a deep conversation. Although I couldn't hear what they were talking about, they're body language told that it was something important. One of them came in shorts and a t shirt. While the other came in a normal shirt and pant. I guess this Mafia is the chilled out Mafia gang. They are in casuals and Adrian is perfectly fine with it unlike what I saw in movies where these people are always in uniform and formally dressed.

Both were good looking. The guy with shorts had blue eyes which were attractive. He somehow looked naughty. By his appearance I could guess that he must be a year or two older than me.

The other guy had black eyes and it suited him well. He had sharp features and a well settled hair. He had a stern look on his face and seemed to be listening to something attentively. Next to him sat the lady. She was very pretty. She wore a pair of black skinny jeans and a white frilly top which sat perfectly on her showing her curves. She had blond hair and it rested on her shoulders. Her bangs were perfect. She too had blue eyes but they were a darker shade of blue. She did not seem interested in what the men were talking about because she was on her phone.

No one seemed to acknowledge my existence. I've been standing there for a good whole 3 minutes and nobody knows about it yet.

I cleared my throat awkwardly to make them know my presence and immediately all heads snapped towards me including Adrian's. It seemed as an instant reflex reaction and now having everybody attention towards me I started to feel uncomfortable. I know for the fact that the three of them will be studying me from head to toe just like how I had done a while ago.

"Ahhh Ara....come here....This is Kurt he said pointing out to the guy with black eyes....this is Lukas he said pointing out to the guy with blue eyes and this is kaya....Kurt's girl he said pointing out to the woman.

"Nice to meet you I'm Arabell but you'll can call me Ara." I said and gave each of them a hand shake.

"I guess you and kaya can go upstairs and get to know each other while we sit here and talk  business" Adrian said and Kurt nodded agreeing to what Adrian just said.

But the way Adrian told me to go upstairs was different...He was being polite.

What's with his polite behaviour by the way?

Oh!!!

I almost let it pass unnoticed...people are here...He needs to act good.

He's such a jerk.

I just faked a smile and left.

Kaya and me went on top and we sat on the bed. She seemed really sweet. But this is a little awkward. I mean I just met her a minute ago and now Adrain expects us to act like we know each other and make conversations.

"So how did you land up here" she asked me breaking the tension building between both of us.

I mentally thanked her doing that.

"Honestly I'm still not sure why on earth I am here but its just that Adrian kidnapped me for someone else and when he realized I was not the one it was too late since I had seen a murder and I got go know he's the head of the Mafia so I have to stay till this business of his is over." I said throwing my hands up in the air and adding a little more gestures.

She Chuckled a bit.

"And how are you here" I asked her.

"Well definitely I'm not forced to be here like you. I just fell for Kurt and so did he. That was before I knew he was associated with the Mafia. But then he explained things to me and it was then that we decided never to bring official work in between personal life. If he was being so open by telling me everything about this Mafia and all...I had to give our relationship a chance." She said blushing.

"oh my that's so sweet. But this Adrian guy I tell you he's a jerk. He has rules set up here. He told me if I don't follow them I'll get punished. I hate him." I said lowering my voice scared that he will hear me though he wasn't present.

"nooo he's a nice guy. You'll start understanding him when you come to know the real him. Maybe he didn't tell you the whole reason. There could be more to as to why you are here. Just don't be to tough on him because he's good at heart. Behind those emotionless features of his lies a man who has a heart. A man who cares. We have been with him  for so long so all of us in this house except you know who he is." she said placing a hand on my shoulder.

"Wait you said that there is more reasons as why I am here...D..do...you know why I'm here other than his freaking business?"I asked a little to impatient.

"See Ara I'm not sure about this but when you said that the man who was shot by Adrian told that it'll be fun now that he has a pretty girl....I guess you didn't get what he meant...It means your life is in danger as well...so Adrian is just trying to make sure that you are safe by keeping you in front of his eyes the whole time" she said.

"Ohhhh...but I can look after myself I don't need anyone to protect me" I grumbled.

"These people are dangerous...the minute you think you are safe that's when they attack...and maybe somewhere Adrian is guilty for putting your life in danger as well...so I guess he's just trying to make it up to you" she said patiently.

"And for you not to get bored I'll be there to accompany you. We'll meet up and I'll take permission for us to go shopping together" she said happily.

We both smiled at the thought of it. At least I will have someone to keep me companied.

But thinking of what Kaya just said I can't really come in terms with it. I can't believe that Adrian will feel guilty for something. If he's trying  to protect me then that's sweet of him. But again this is just an assumption we are not sure if it's true because after all he was being a jerk to me
