I am intensely annoyed when somebody calls me and tries to sell me something. To prove this, here are sampes from some conversations I've had with telemarketers:

--Pick up--
-Hello, sir, I'm selling insura-
-WHOA THERE sonny boy- you sound just like the kind of person that would be interested in our get-a-life insurance! It generally costs a lot, but we can make an exception for someone who needs it as much as you!
--hang up--

--pick up--
-Good morning sir, I would just like to ask if you would be inter--
-Socrates, though ahead of his time, was not invulnerable to the pain, strife and terror of existance.
-Very interesting, but can I interes--
-Dust on the wind, he said. People are adrift in the sands of time, yet even he could not act as the hourglass.
-...
-We must all revise, reflect and reorder our deeds to be able to leave this world in peace; to one day be able to come to rest at the bottom of the hourglass.
