Falling in love is very real, but I used to shake my head when people talked about soul mates, poor deluded individuals grasping at some supernatural ideal not intended for mortals but sounded pretty in a poetry book. My eyes were glued to those of my friends new boyfriend. His eyes suddenly scrunch close as Chastity repeats the words "Arsen Bates my boyfriend". He looks in pain or as though he is suffering from the realisation.

My observations are cut short as Alec, one of my best friends pulls into his hard chest, suffocating me in his cologne. I wrap my arms tightly around Alec's torso and endure the comfort I am feeling momentarily.

"I've missed you,  mi amor!" He says quietly in his  Spanish accent while releasing me from his tight grip. I look up at his ice blue eyes and see them looking down at me. His face is glowing as though I had some effect on his mood.

"I've missed you too, honey.  You know I love you  but I will skin you alive if you don't stop calling me that!" I saw rolling my eyes with a smile tugging at my lips. God, have I missed him. Zora and Alec are probably the closest thing I have to a best friends.  Alec and I have a complex relationship. We have dated in the past but we ended it as he told me he was gay which I was of course fine with. Currently he is dating a girl which left me very confused. But he later explained he is bisexual and that we were just better as friends which I completely agree with.

"Why can't I call you that, mi amor?"

"Because our past  Alec! I already know it means 'my love', as you have kindly explained in the past"

"Whatever you say........" He says kissing my forehead before saying in an amused voice "Mi amorrrrrr". I just glare up at him before averting my attention back to the group,

Chastity is staring at Arsen in annoyance as Arsen glares at me and Alec. I forgot Arsen was actually here, the moments before felt all fuzzy like some sort of dream. Max has his arm around Luciana and they both just smile over at me. Emily and Jerry are nowhere to be seen, probably off somewhere making out or something. Zora is standing next to Alec. She quickly pulls me into a hug which I fight as I hate her hugs.

"We have so much to talk about!" She squeals into my ear.

"I saw you two days ago, Z" I huff. She just steps back, letting me free to breath once again and looks between me and Arsen before winking at me. Oh no, she noticed....

I open my mouth to change the topic before someone notices. But just as I do the principal stands up and straights giving us some lecture on the school year and exams and then puts into our tutor groups

"Giselle? right?" I hear an American accent say next to me. I turn to see Arsen walking next to me, staring at me with those glittering green eyes. I completely forgot we were put into the same class group. We have nearly all the same classes now which is just peachy. We have lunch now so we are heading to the social area to meet with the others. For some reason I feel a deep hatred towards him. Maybe it's because he caught me on a bad day or because he's dating chastity or just because of the way he makes me feel. I look at him once again and just simply nod.

"Soo are you and Alec a thing?" he says still looking at me with curiosity visible in his eyes.

"No way" I say while giggling. I understand why he thought this but seriously no. That ship has sailed and sank at sea.
