--Nora--

It's strange; waking up in a place I've never been before. I should remember falling asleep, or waking up, for that matter. I should remember where I decided to sleep, or where I decided to lay down at night, but the last thing I remembered was walking home from school.

I groaned, feeling my head weigh down from the heaviness of sleep. I could hear very faintly people moving around upstairs. All I could see, however, was the slight reflection of the concrete floorings from the moon outside. The light came from a window that was about three inches high and one foot long. It also had bars around the window, assuring no escape. For some reason though, I stayed absolutely calm. It must have been all of the training my dad and his friends put my through. If you cannot remember going to sleep and you're in a strange place, remain calm, find a way out, your first priority is to get home.

I swallowed hard and tried to sit up, only to discover that my hands were tied behind my back. This was new. If this was one of my father's 'tests', then he's certainly outdone himself this time.

I grunted in pain and felt my body seize up from my dizziness. This was definitely new. I felt my stomach heave a little and my throat cinched a bit, causing me to gag and retch. Finally, I let my stomach release its contents on the floor, the stench almost strong enough to make me throw up again.

Just as I was finished throwing up, the door opened at the top of the rickety steps of the basement.

"Fuck." I heard the voice swear. I whimpered, not recognizing the voice. No, no, no, no, no, this wasn't good. This wasn't good at all. I struggled weakly against the bonds and failed miserably, falling back, avoiding my sick.

The person advanced down the steps and walked a quick pace towards me, not bothering to turn on the lights. I flinched back away from him as his hands landed themselves on my shoulders, hoisting me up. My eyes widened with fear as I stared back into the eyes of a stranger.
