I'm sorry for the lack of updates. I've been very busy with work and such. Leave me some love :)
My ankle monitor was driving me crazy. It would stick to the bedsheets, stick to my skin making it chafe, and I would constantly knock it against the walls when I wasn't careful enough. I'm still nervous about how powerful this ankle monitor is, considering that Oliver never did a demonstration. But seeing how Josh doesn't even want me to experience it leads me to believe that it's a lot more powerful than I'd like to think.
I was mindlessly in the room I was put in when Josh barged in, looking angry. Lately he's been more irritable towards Oliver, which is giving me some sort of hope.
"Morning." Josh said shortly, sitting down on one of the armchairs in the corner, pulling out his book and his beer. The clock on the bedside table read 5pm. I looked tiredly at him as he plucked the cap off the beer and took a swig. Josh seemed to drink beer a lot, although I rarely saw him intoxicated.
I didn't realize how long I was looking at Josh until he snapped his gaze up at me, his eyebrow raised. "What?"
"Oh." I muttered, adverting my gaze. "Oh, uh, nothing. Just...just thinking."
"Did you eat today?" he asked tiredly.
I blinked. Josh looked back at me, expectantly. "No, I haven't left the room."
Josh scoffed, snapping his book shut. He stood up and tossed the book on his seat and then he made his way to the door. He glanced over his shoulder at me and took a sip. "Are you coming?"
I nodded, jumping off the bed and padded after him. Josh gave a little grin and rolled his eyes, shutting the door behind him. "What are you hungry for?" I shrugged.
"I don't know," I muttered "anything, I suppose."
Josh raised his eyebrow. "Anything...okay." he led me to the kitchen and sat me down at the kitchen table. "Wait here. I'll look around for some meal to cook up."
I played with my hands and kept my eyes aimed downwards.
"Man, this is bringing back some good memories." Josh laughed turning on the stove to boil some water. "I remember making food for your mother and I on a night her father was doing a raid. It would have been really shitty if I didn't have her."
"How do you know my mom?" I asked again, more timidly. Josh looked at me over his shoulder.
"I thought I told you?" Josh smirked.
"You did. But I...I don't know what you mean by half sister. I've never even heard about you before."
"Ah." Josh nodded and put some pasta in the pot. Then he turned to me. "That makes sense. I was dead...wasn't I?" Josh smirked.
I opened my mouth, about to ask Josh what he meant, but the door that was the entrance to the cabin snapped open, revealing a very angry Oliver. Behind him was Matt Nicholls and Beau. I instantly stood, walking backwards. I tripped over my feet as Oliver advanced on me and I fell hard onto the floor, my elbows soaring in pain.
"Oliver-" started Josh, but Oliver pointed to Matt who instantly pulled a gun out and aimed it at Josh. Josh put his hands up and backed away against the wall, looking angrily at Oliver.
I scrambled back, my feet barely catching traction on the floor. Oliver advanced on me, leaning down and grabbing my shirt collar, lifting me from the ground.
"You little fucking bitch." Oliver snarled, pulling a long sharp knife from his side. I gasped and tried to wriggle my way free from him, slammed me to the floor, straddling me and pinning me down. He waved the knife in my face and growled, gritting his teeth. "You have no idea what I have in store for you."
