But yet
The thing I own
Is my fidelity
And it avails me nothing
And so
There is nothing I own.
And as I seek
Confidence to continue the journey
confidence to believe that I will not be torn apart around the next corner
I trust not in my own hand
Though my hand is strong
I trust not in my own plan
Though my plan is made
I trust not in my own faith
Though I believe
I trust in Providence
To bring me through
Or leave me here.
And as I answer to
My brethren
Who call on me
And ask me
To show my strength
And to prepare my plan
And to show my confidence
I may not say to them
That I trust not in my own hand
Nor in my own plan
Nor in my own faith.
My brethren ask of me what my God does not
And so I am speechless
In front of men
Weak in their eyes
And valued greatly in His sight.
