All of Humanity

45 7 9

The whole of humanity speaks to me
All the philosphers and all the fools
Every misguided theologian
And every despot, every minstrel

That ever held an ounce of pain or joy,
They all have things to say and each insists
That theirs is the one message, the gospel
Of ages (or the prophecy of doom).

And most of them can't seem to tell the diff'rence.
All of humanity, if the throng were
Just limited to that, would speak at once
All shouting to be heard. But there is more.

Nature, stars and beyond. I hear your voice.
I'm just not prepared to answer you yet.
