As she gazed into my eyes
"Sing this awful pain away
Until there's no more time."So I held her hand and opened my mouth,
Tears running down my cheeks
And I sang the sweetest song I knew To the girl who had my ring. Her stare never left my face
Even as her grasp went limp
She held on to my every word
'Til her starry eyes had dimmed.
