2 Months Later

"Ow, Darcy! Did you really have to do this now?" I wince.

"I'm sorry, it's not my fault you chose the morning of the wedding to show up to my house with unplucked eyebrows," She says, picking another stray hair with her metal tweezers.

My eyes water in pain. The skin below my brow felt raw. "My mascara isn't waterproof!"

"Again, not my fault," She says mercilessly. "You should have let your makeup artist help out instead of doing it yourself. I mean honestly, did you want to look like a total train wreck next to me?"

Anyone would look like a mess next to Darcy. Her hair was in a milkmaid braid with a few loose curls hanging. Her skin is glowing, courtesy of some awesome highlighter, and the dress she finished making last week hugged her body like a latex glove.

Of course, here I am with raccoon eyes, a boring undo, and chap lips. The only thing remotely appealing to look at was the dress on me, and that was because Darcy had designed this beauty. It was a powder blue with one shoulder strap that was cinched at the waist and flowed to the ground like running water.

"Are you almost done?" I ask impatiently.

She huffs. "Barely. Do you ever do your eyebrows?"

"Does it look like I do?"

My dad pokes his head into the bathroom. "Love, have you seen my tie?"

"I think it's on the guest room bed," I answer, focusing on keeping the tears from falling down and ruining my makeup.

"Thanks."

"Coming through!" I briefly see Trevor yell as he runs down the hallway carrying a plate of cookies.

"Wait - I was going to get more!" Dylan follows closely behind him.

Seconds after, Faith steps into the bathroom crowding the already tight space. "Is there a secret spot in the house to get the best WiFi? I have a History test on Monday and my teacher uploaded the practice test online."

"Upstairs, guest room closet," Darcy answers. "Don't even ask why I know that."

"Terrific," Faith nods.

"This place is a madhouse," Darcy says to me once she's gone.

Everyone had chosen to get ready at Darcy's house before the wedding. Even though it was a madhouse, I was appreciating having everyone that I love under one roof getting ready to celebrate a beautiful occasion. Despite how crazy it was, somehow it felt normal.

"I love it."

"Me too," She chuckles at me.

"I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way," I tell her, both of us smiling.

"Well, I guess everything is back to how it was before. The lacrosse boys are back to being dweebs, Jagger and the Broken Roses are going to be huge hits, I am working at for a local boutique this summer, and your love life finally makes sense," She says with one satisfied sigh. "All is right in the world."

"What do you mean my love life finally makes sense?" I try to raise a brow at her but I'm physically incapable of being released from her death grip and tweezers.

"You came to your senses and chose the one person you deserve to be with."

At the thought of Caleb, a smile comes natural.

Respectful to my wishes, he was taking things slow. In fact, he was taking things a little too slow. For the past couple of months, we'd fallen into a routine that didn't necessarily carve out any quality time with each other. There were times I found myself missing him, even though I could see him whenever I wanted. During the school week, we would run into each other in class, at ThompsonCares meetings, or at lunch. But over the weekends, we were busy living separate lives - Penelope and Clarkson were pushing me to do interviews and appearances up the yin-yang to make up for the time I had gone incognito, while Caleb was busy with volunteering at the hospital or spending quality time with the lacrosse boys before Viho's graduation.
