They aired the announcement of my winnings on the news last night and as of this morning, I'd lost count of how many notifications and messages I'd received on Facebook. I didn't even bother to check Twitter. I can honestly say it was the most action my social network has seen.

"Whaddup breadwinner?" Jagger greets me as he and Darcy stand on my front door. "You are officially bigger than the Broken Roses. I'll suck it up and pretend like I'm okay with it."

"Thanks, I guess. Can you please not make a big deal about it?"

"Your dream came true - you're finally popular. How can you be complaining about that?" Faith pipes in. She had agreed not to start any fights if I let her carpool with us to school. As the first day, this ride is going to determine whether she dies from getting pushed out of a moving car or being strangled by a seat belt.

My irritation is already on high alert and I didn't need her arrogance adding to it. "Because I know once we get to school, everyone's going to act weird."

"Everyone at your school already satisfies that expectation. The maturity level is almost nonexistent," She flips her hair. "I can easily outsmart anyone."

"Can't really argue with that one," Jagger says.

"Anyway, I'll probably be harassed by everyone at school, so I don't need you three on my back too, got it?"

"Got it."

"Fine."

"Whatever."

The three of them answer at once.

"Great, now let's get this over with."

The drive to school is filled with decisions on what the fifty million should be spent on. Jagger has plenty of instruments and musicians to meet in mind, Darcy lists the clothes and shoes she wants, and Faith offers the different types of research I should invest in.

They were interesting suggestions. Helpful? Eh, not the first word I'd use to describe the three maniacs insisting on running the financial crisis in my life.

I didn't think anything past buying a ticket - winning was the last thing that would cross my mind. I've never actually thought of what I would spend or buy and to be honest, I still don't know. Should I buy my own taco truck? Buy a trip to the moon? Drop out of school and build my own college?

The possibilities were endless. Fifty million dollars, as luck would have it, is a lot of money.

"Now that I've had time to ponder about it, you should definitely take Darcy's advice and provide yourself with a completely new wardrobe," Faith says as we all step out of the car. "Your outfits are in need of drastic help."

I shift in the boyfriend jeans and cropped tank top I had worn. "My clothes are perfectly fine."

"You look like an extra on the set of a skateboarding video-"

I take a step forward with a hand raised ready to hit her but Darcy stops me. "Easy, Bruce Lee. No attacking the innocent."

"Innocent?" I echo sharply at my best friend.

"You heard her," Faith crosses her fragile arms that were in need of contact with daylight.

"You are so lucky we're not in the car anymore," I grit my teeth at Faith. She childishly sticks her tongue out.

"This is going to take time getting used to," Jagger laughs and squeezes himself between us sisters.

"Trust me, it's going to take a lot of time," I say.
