Running Out of Time {Barry Allen/The Flash}

Epilogue: Chapter 33

I watch as The Reverse-Flash pins the Flash against the wall, beating him.

"Just so we're clear, after I kill you, I'm going to kill them. Even the Time Turner. And then I'm going to kill your father. I always win, Flash." The Reverse-Flash says before a gunshot goes off. He drops Barry and I look around. The Reverse-Flash almost flutters. I look at the one officer I just met. A spot of blood covers  Eddie's shirt. Iris yells out his name in my earpiece and I sigh.

"Eddie, what did you do!?" Mr. West yells as he runs up to Eddie, "What did you do?!"

I look over to Barry slumped on the floor.

"No such thing as a coincidence." Eddie mumbles.

"What's happening?" Barry breathes out, and I run up to him.

"Eddie's his ancestor. If Eddie dies, he'll never be born. He's being erased from existence." Cisco points out. I help Barry up from the ground, looking at the shock in his face. Iris runs over to Eddie, yelling and holding him in her arms. I actually let a tear fall, even though I just met this man. He struggles for a breath before- before he dies in Iris' arms. Barry looks around in confusion before the Reverse-Flash starts to disappear.

"I've controlled both of your lives for so long. How will you two get along without me?" The Reverse-Flash asks before he yells out in pain. I look over to Barry before giving him a side hug.

"He's gone." I mumble. Then, suddenly the wormhole starts to reopen. "Well shit."

"We have to go now!" Mr. West yells.

"We have to disrupt the motion." Barry says, "Basically, it's just like the tornado but upside down. And bigger. And scarier." After that, I zone out, and ignore everyone. Trying to think.

"I have to try..." Barry says before flicking up his hood. He gives me a quick peck on the lips.

"Wait! What if I slow down everything except for you so it's easier to stop it?" I ask.

"That should work." He replies, "I love you." He says before running off. He runs up the building, and past the debris. That's when he starts spinning in circles. And that's when he closes the wormhole.

Six months after all that happened. After we defeated the Reverse-Flash, and after Barry managed to close the wormhole. It happened to be "The Flash +Time Turner Day", or something. They're  giving us the key to the city. Cisco said that because they are all part of Team Flash, they should get a key too. Barry says he doesn't want to go to the rally, and neither do I.

I'm not the person who saved this city. Eddie and Ronnie did. Even Barry did, but not me. I don't deserve a key to the city. Iris came to my home to persuade me, but I just looked away.

I thought back to when Ronnie died, how heart broken Caitlin was. I couldn't look at her. Barry gave her a hug as he mumbled his sorry, but I couldn't. I had to walk away. I left, punched at a few walls, then walked home. So no, I'm not a hero. But then of course the city was counting on me so I went.

Now here I am.

"Good morning Central City. A year ago, our world changed. Our city became ground zero for some pretty weird stuff. We got a new breed of criminal. Men and women who defied not only our laws, but physics and reason, but we got something else too. We got two heroes! The Flash and the Time Turner!" He says introducing us, "Our wounds run deep, and I know many of you were afraid of what threats tomorrow may bring, but the Time Turner and Flash don't just protect us, they restore hope where it was lost. That's why I'm honored to present the key to the two who saved Central City... the Time Turner and the Flash!"

I walk onto the stage, waving. I look around waiting for Barry to show up. "Where is he?" I whisper to myself. Everybody claps, but it soon dies down as the Flash doesn't show. People look around for him. I walk up to the mayor.

"May I?" I ask, gesturing to the microphone. He nods and I clear my throat. "For someone with superspeed, he's usually late for everything." I say aloud and I get many laughs. Then, a red blur shows up, and there he is, standing next to me. I back away from the microphone.

"Sorry I'm late." He mumbles to me.

"Damn you, Allen." I whisper. He they receives many cheers. He waves out to them, and so do I. "You're hot." I say looking at him in the suit and he laughs.

"I already knew that." He says before nodding to the crowd.

"The doors to Central City will always be open for you. Time Turner. Flash." They mayor says. Then something comes flying at us. I shove Barry out of the way before grabbing the mayor. I slow time as I grab him and run. I spot a man all in black. Barry gets to him first before I do. Then, Barry is punched and thrown back.

"This is going to be fun." I groan sarcastically.

"What are you doing?" Joe asks.

"I'm throwing, you're shooting." Barry replies.

The gate to Iron Heights opens. Barry smile up at his dad before giving him a hug. Then he smiles at me.

"Mr. Allen." I say, smiling back.

"Katheryn." He greets me, and I jump in. I give him a hug as well.

"Nice to see you again." I smile as I step away.

"Let's get out of here. " Barry says.

"I'll race you." His dad says. Barry and I both laugh. "I'll race you both."

"You will lose." Barry says.

  "And if you lose to him, you for sure won't beat me." I say following them. Barry has one arm wrapped around his dad, and the other around me.  Then, soon we arrive back at Joe's house. We walk in the door only to be greeted by the team.

"Welcome home!"

"Barry Allen, today was a wonderful day." I say, smiling up at him as we walk into the room we share at my place.

"I know. They let my dad out, and we took down the Atom Smasher. You're also still here with me." He says back.

"We also have the key to the city..." I say laughing.

"Yeah we do." He says, "It's not bad." He trails off.

"I'm glad I met you Barry." I say, "Like, how long have we been dating?" I ask.

"We've been together for a while. We were dating even before we knew we were." He remarks.

"Yeah we have. We've been through a lot. I really do love you." I say say as I give him a quick kiss.

"I love you more, though." He says.

"Okay, well, I love the sex more." I innocently smile, as I step closer to him. I try to act as sexy as I can.

"I don't know about that. I enjoy it quite a lot." He responds back, cutely.  I shove him back, pinning him against the wall quickly. He lets out a breath of air on my neck and it sends shivers down my spine. I lean in and kiss him once again. I lose my grip on his hands and he spins me around, pinning me against the wall. He plants kisses from my lips down my neck as he holds my hands above my head. I moan under his touch.

"I guess we'll have to see about that, Barry."
