The entire lunch was pleasant. Nothing awkward happened and everything went smoothly. When Dan paid for the bill, Lily and Matt went outside to wait for the adults.

"Dan is quite nice don't you think?" Matt asked as they stood there, in the parking lot.

"Sure, he's cool." Lily shrugged her shoulders.

Then as expected, Dan and Isabelle came out of the restaurant, laughing their lungs out.

"Oh Danny, you're so funny! I can't even breathe right now." She said taking pauses in between words. Her smile was so wide, lines were forming around her eyes and mouth. It felt good, seeing her mother happy. But not with her dad, that made it rather unhappy in some cases.

"It was nice getting to see you, Lily." Dan said as he shook her hands. "You too, Matt."

"Likewise," Matt replied.

"Honey, do you mind if I stay with Danny for the rest of the day?" Isabelle said as she caught her breath.

"No, sure." Lily said as she smiled at her. "We'll be at the house if you need us."

"Okay, thank you." She said and she walked off with Dan. He swung his hands to her waist and that made Lily shook her head as if to check if she's imagining it. But since she's clearly not, she looked at Matt and he followed her gaze.

"Well, maybe now we know why she's going to stay there." Matt smirked and Lily playfully punched him.

"Don't think like that!" Lily said as he smiled and headed to his car.

"What do you wanna do for the rest of the day?" He started the engine and looked at her.

"Well is your offer of shopping still good?" She smirked and he was taken back.

"When did I say that?!" He panicked and she laughed.

"Before I ran away," She reminded him.

"Oh, right." He said as he drove off. "Mall it is, then."

As they drove to the mall, Lily was suddenly brought back to her childhood. She jumped out of the car, waiting for Matt to come out as she dashed through the front door, inhaling the sweet smell of the place.

As she looked back, Matt was fighting off a smile and she had a wide grin plastered across her face.

Lily held Matt's hand and went to find the Forever 21 boutique. Minutes later, passed the clothes, fitting the shoes and trying out jewelleries, she ended up with five shopping bags from five different shops.

"I never thought shopping would be this stressful." Matt stated as Lily smiled and wrapping her arms around his'.

"But it's worth it." She smiled as she kissed his cheek.

"How is it worth it?" He basically grunted. "My feet are throbbing!"

"Well, I'm sorry to hear that mister Renée."

"Sorry isn't enough." He huffed and a really good comeback went like a light bulb in her head.

"Is it too late now to say sorry?" She smiled as she sang the line.

"Yes, yes it is." He replied, obviously fighting off a smile.

"Aw, come on." She propelled him forward until they came across Baskin Robbins.

"Oh no. No, no, no, no." Matt trailed off but Lily was already fast on her feet.

"Oh my holy goodness!" Lily said before ordering her favorite ice cream, cookies and cream.
