Chapter 1

A while ago, I had a family that lived with me for years and years. But then, they moved on with their lives and moved away to different places. They were the Kannen Family. This family consisted of a mother and her three daughters. Where is the dad, is what some have asked. Well, I will answer that with a story.

A whole year and a month before the Kannen Family moved to live with me, was when the Father passed. The Father died in an 'accidental' car accident on his way home; with the thought of a paid vacation to spend time with his family. With a single call from the hospital, the time has stopped for the Kannen Family. The mother dropped the pie she had worked so hard on onto the cold floor. She then hurried her daughters to get ready to go to the hospital. The mother drove as safely and as quickly as possible to get to the hospital to give blood to her husband but, as they arrived, they received grievous news. It just happen that they arrived ten minutes too late. The doctor apologized over and over and over again while explaining that any blood that they put into the father just came spewing back out as if his blood was alive and had a mind of its own. The mother insisted that they try her blood. So without much choice, the doctor linked up the couple and transfused the wife's blood into the husband's. Five minutes went by, then ten, then twenty. As the wife sat there, seeing the blood drain from her arm into her husband's, the doctor spoke to her with as gentle a voice as she could,

The Doctor- "Ma'am, if you give any more blood, you are gonna need a blood transfusion yourself."

By hearing this, the wife continued for another ten minutes. She then allowed the doctor to remove the cord and gave some blood back to the wife with a different pack of blood. The wife cried and cried. After an hour of the transfusion, the doctor came and asked the wife to see if she can live with anyone for a while. The only person that she could live with was the husband's brother, who is the only relative on either side that is within the city.

A few months after the funeral

While packing the middle daughter asked,

Emmy-"Mom, do we really have to live with Uncle Dan?"

Mom-"Yes honey, we do. Just for a little while."

Emmy-"Yeah I know, but how long?"

Mom-"Until my friend calls me back and lets me know that we can live with Brother."

Emmy-"Who's brother?"

Mom-"I guess you can call him a really close friend."

The eldest daughter walks in.

Emmy-"How close?"

Mom-"Closer than a friend and definitely family."

Emmy-"Then why don't we just go live with him?"

The mother sighs.

Mom-"Well, I haven't spoken to him after I married your Father. Even though he came to our wedding, I still didn't thank him or sent him a letter to say thank you."

Sophia-"Why haven't you?"

Mom-"Because he is special...<smiles warmly at the thought of Brother>"

The sisters look at each other and thought about who this Brother is, how he looks, and what he does for a living.

Chapter 2

The girls thought and thought about who and what Brother is, but it was shattered when they met Uncle Dan. They got out of the cab and walked up to Dan's door, and rings the doorbell. <Ding dong>
