Maybe, she had been to harsh. She understood what a weapon words could be, but, at the time, she hadn't thought that the words she'd chosen would sting them. But they had and now she felt bad. She felt horrible, actually. All she'd meant to do was get her point across. Perhaps, she'd done too well.
Consumed by guilt, Leia Organa tossed in her bed, pulling the covers over her head while she tried to forget the pain she'd caused her parents. She supposed the worst of this whole ordeal was the fact that she'd meant everyhting she'd told them. It had just come out . . . in the wrong tone. But how was she supposed to explain that to them now? What had she said that had cut so deeply, implied too much? All she had asked for, meant to ask for, was the chance to find herself and the life that she was meant to live.
Maybe it was selfish of her to even suggest the idea, ungrateful, but Leia longed to see past the far reaches of space that belonged to Alderaan. She loved Alderaan, still. She really did. She loved the people, the fresh air, the rich culture. She couldn't think of anything she didn't like about her home. It was just that she always felt there was something missing. Leia was always filled with such a yearning for something more, something even Alderaan couldn't give her. And while the thought worried her, it thrilled her all at once and she longed for it even more. She had no idea what it was that was missing for her life, only that, with each passing day, she longed for it more and more and more . . .

The man in her dream was handsome in a roguish way and Leia was slightly embarrassed to feel so attracted to him. He stood about a foot taller than her with dark hair, hazel eyes, and a crooked smile that oddly allured her. His clothes were that of a Corellian mercenary and, as soon as Leia realized that, she mentally kicked herself. At least there were children there, too. Innocent, carefree, and joyous enough to draw Leia's attention away from the Corellian man and to them instead. All three of them had dark hair and that crooked grin . . . There were two boys and one girl. One of the boys had dark eyes while the other had startling blue eyes. The girl, Leia like to fancy, looked a lot like herself at that young age (five years, Leia was guessing) with big brown eyes, a button nose, and a small stature. They were beautiful, Leia thought and she came forward to hug them-
But just like that, the dream ended and she woke up in her own bed again.
