The Hunger Games- Blue Dress
Mrs Everdeen laid out her blue dress for Katniss to wear on the day of the reaping because it was the dress that she herself had been wearing the day she first met her husband. She felt that if the dress brought even the smallest portion of that luck to Katniss, the same luck that so many years ago made her walk through the seam on the way home from school and hear his voice for the first time, then her daughter would be alright.
