When Peeta tried to show Katniss how to make cheese bums, they ended up eating all the cheese and laughing about each other, mocking each other in a rather lovely way. Katniss wasn’t that good at baking anyway and in the end Peeta was the one who made the cheese bums she loved so much, while Katniss watched him. He often caught her smiling at him. There were such warmth and love in her eyes. Just seeing her like this, just being happy, made Peeta himself happier than anything else in the world. Katniss had gotten over her reservations. She let him see her feelings. And she let him make her smile. No one else could make Katniss smile, just Peeta.
