he actually relished in the time that you were in his arms. he actually liked the way you sighed indecisively when he inched a little too close to you in the hallways. it terrified him how much he secretly wanted to just be with you rather than what whatever he was doing at that moment.
however, he never failed to see her glances at the both of them, presumably thinking they were dating. he scoffed at the idea - dating. dating was a commitment and a promise, something he wouldn't even try to keep. it wasn't like he had an emotionally scarring past or anything, it was just that he didn't care. there wasn't any reason to care. and he liked that.
but he didn't like how close he was letting you get to him.
