A/N: Yan natututo na akong mag A/N. :) I was told to shorten the paragraphs to make it easy to read, hence, from this part forward, shorter paragraphs it will be. Thanks for the suggestion :)

(2 months after the lost envelope incident)

"Meeeeng!  Meeeeeng!!!! Meeeeeeeeng!" A bewildered Kat was screaming like crazy as if the world is about to end. She has been looking for Maine everywhere in school but the later was nowhere to be found. Kat was excited yet scared at the same time but her excitement outweighs the other feeling. She needs to find Maine now.

"Yes, Ms. Linie thank you for the tip. Ganun na nga lang po ang gagawin ko to save time sa proofreading." Maine was thanking her school paper adviser as she was walking out the door of the office.

Kat grabbed Maine's arm and pulled her. "Hi Ms. Linie! Sorry po, emergency lang po." Muttered Kat giving a peace sign to a confused Ms. Linie.  Kat dragged Maine to one of the benches in the school grounds and made her sit. "Meng, alam mong mahal na mahal kita right? At alam mong lahat ng ginagawa ko may rason at para yun sa kabutihan mo, right?"

Maine furrowed her brows and for some unknown reason, her heart began to beat faster.  "Katrina, anong ginawa mo?"

Shems Katrina na 'ko. Di na maganda to. Kat thought when she heard Maine spoke. Well, it's now or never. She dug into the outer pocket of her bag and produced an airmail envelope that she slowly handed to Maine.

What's with that envelope that made Kat so panicky like that? Maine thought as she reached out to receive what Kat is handing her. She looked at it and saw her name printed in scrawny handwriting. This is not Kat's definitely. Ahh... maybe one of those boys who wants to make a pass on me. She rolled her eyes. But when she looked at the name written on the upper left part of the envelope, her knees turned to jelly and if not for Kat, she might have lost her bearing.

From: Richard Faulkerson Jr.

She looked at Kat, demanding for an explanation. How in the world did this happen? Why would he write me? How did he know the school's address (yes kids, wala pa internet noon, wala pang google) or how did he even know which school I attend? How did he even know me? "Katrina magpaliwanag ka. I need an explanation right now!"

"Eh ganito kasi yan Meng. Nakita ko kasi ang letter mo tas kinuha ko. Pero hindi ko talaga binasa yun promise! Nung nasa Romblon kasi diba may mga pinasulat ako sa slumbook ko? Tas nung awarding, nakita ko yung isa sa kanila, yung Sam, kasama nung Richard. Eh may address sya dun sa school. So ayun...." Explained Kat who was making a textile ball out the hem of her PE t-shirt.

Maine closed her eyes and counted a good ten seconds to calm herself.  After several deep breaths, she opened her eyes and told Kat. "Pag may nakasulat na di ko nagustuhan dito, patay ka saken kala mo!"

"Dali na Meng buksan mo na! Gusto ko na malaman kung anong nakasulat!" shrieked Kat that made Maine laugh. She could not stay mad at her friend even if she's so annoying at times.  "Hep, hep! Ako muna. Mamaya ka na!" She said as she ran to the bathroom and locked the door. With trembling hands, she opened the envelope and slid out a green stationary.

Dear Maine,

I honestly don't know how to explain what I'm feeling right now.  After the awarding ceremony I tried looking for you pero di na kita nakita eh.  My friends literally dragged me back to our room to celebrate over Coke and Mr. Chips and I couldn't get out.  The next morning I woke up early to try to find you and spent the whole morning looking around pero di talaga kita nakita eh. So when I got your letter sobrang saya ko na di ko ma-explain. Pero mas masaya ako that you remembered me too and sumulat ka pa.  Thank you Maine. As in sobrang thank you talaga.

Maine couldn't finish reading the letter because her hands are trembling and she had to let out a little shriek every now and then to ease the build up of kilig in her chest. Richard Faulkerson Jr. wrote her! Well, replied to her letter technically, but kahit na! He wrote her! What day could be better than this?
