"Why aren't you home with your woman, Mr.?" One of the sound guys asked.

"There's work to be done, my friend." He laughed, clapping his back and walking into the studio we were recording in.

"Hey man!" Tico said.

"How's the missus?" Alec asked as I hung up my coat.

"She's doing great. Finished painting the living room yesterday."

"Is that why you have a little blue on your arm?" I looked at my arm.

"Yeah."

"How did you manage to do that?"

"Didn't know the paint wasn't dry yet and I leaned against the wall." The guys burst into laughter.

"Smooth." David said.

"Right. Anyway. Let's get started. What are we working on today?" I asked Jon.

"Roulette."

"Ah." We started working. A few hours later, I pulled into the driveway. When I walked in the door, Jennifer was sitting on the couch. "Hey, Babe." I said, walking over and kissing her cheek.

"Hey. How was it in the studio today?"

"Good. We should be done mixing in a few days."

"Cool. When does the tour start?"

"Next month on the 3rd." She nodded. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing." She smiled.

"Okay."

"But I do have something to give you. Close your eyes." I did. It was a few minutes before I heard her walk back in. "Open." I did and she handed me some plastic thing. I raised an eyebrow but then I saw what it was.

"You-" She nodded. I sat there for a minute, stunned. "You're ... pregnant."

"Yes."

"Is this for real?" She giggled.

"Yes, Richie."

"Oh my God." I whispered, smiling. "We're going to be parents."

"Yes we are." She sat on the couch next to me, putting a hand on my knee. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah. Just a little shocked." She laughed and kissed my cheek. "What if you have the baby while I'm on tour?"

"I doubt I'm that far along, Richie. The tour ends in early November. Right?"

"Yeah. That's true."

"See? Nothing to worry about."
