We were setting up backstage. I was hoping that Jennifer came. It would calm my nerves a lot. Not like I'm too nervous, but it does freak you out a little going onstage. I've never been really nervous, maybe like excited nervous. But not nervous nervous. If that makes any sense at all. If it doesn't ... well ... sorry for the confusion. "Hey. Rich. There's some girl here to see you." The club owner said. I smiled as he let Jennifer backstage.
"Hey Jenn." I smiled.
"Hey Richie." She smiled. The other band members then came backstage.
"Who's this?" They asked.
"Guys, this is my girlfriend, Jennifer. Jenn, these are my band mates. That's Dean Fasano. He does lead vocals and guitar. That's Simon Gannett. He plays the organ. That's Bruce Foster on keyboards. Alec John Such on bass guitar. Finally Andy Rubbo on drums." I said.
"Nice to meet you." Jennifer smiled.
"Nice to finally meet the girl Richie's been talking about for ages." Alec teased. I could feel my face go hot.
"Shut up." I mumbled. Jennifer just laughed along with the guys.
"Oh come on, Richie. I find it cute." She said. I just smiled and blushed a little more.
"I don't think I've ever seen Richie blush like that before." Dean teased. I just wanted to slap them all.
"All right. Enough fooling around." I said. They nodded, but were still laughing. Jennifer kissed my cheek. I smiled at her.
"You guys ready?" The club owner asked.
"As ready as ever." Dean said.
"Cool. Good luck." We nodded our thanks as he went back out to the stage.
"Good luck." Jennifer said, giving me a small kiss.
"Thanks." I smiled. She went back out to the crowd and we got ready.
"Now introducing, New Jersey's own, Message!" We went out and gave them the best fucking show we could give.
