'Crunch....clip...crunch'
A gargantuan mandible spit-fires a shard into outer space.
Any remaining peaks of resistance are strafed into oblivion . Filed down, a few survive, continuing their minute lives with a germ of hope.
In vain, the old ridged ones recount the horrors to their incredulous mites, who just scoff at these lurid tales of saw-toothed aliens from invisible worlds above.
They are content just to feed and breed.
Until the next manicure, they are as snug as a bug in the bed, sure they have it nailed.
