'Aren't you going to invite me in?' he whispers, poised at Jade's door, his smart wristwatch clocks 01.00.

'Smooth but rough...' Jade loosens Jay's raw-silk tie, brushing her ivory-fingers against his dark bristle.

01.05.

Borderline flirtation over, just bordering on...but no more...or maybe?

Back in Delhi, Jay's colleague Sunita is briefing the Defence Minister on the 'unofficial' meeting with Jade.

In Shanghai, Jay and Jade are back in their own suites, separated by a corridor.

Sunita zones through Jay's sweet thoughts as he sips chai from the hotel's finest china, alert to his listening device.

Jade's pearl choker is still warm from her body, as with cold precision she taps a code into its clasp, her tiger-eyes agleam.

Across the ocean, the Defence Minister wonders if Jay can break that 'string of pearls' strategy.
