Char Willis POV
______________________________________________________________________________

Wednesday.

First rehearsal.

Everyone will know.

In the music department.

Then school.

Then state.

Then country.

Then world.

Jesus Christ, why did I sign up for this?

You love Aiden Summers, remember?

Oh, yeah, right, damn.

When the bell rang, I then felt an arm around the back of my neck. I flinched then relaxed when I smelled chocolate mint.

Aiden. Ah.

"Hey, you alright?"

I nodded, "Yeah. Just the whole rehearsal thing is eating up my insides. We're gonna practice on the stage so the sound projects more. I'm going to die."

He laughed, "Do you want me to be there? I can watch from the back." I nodded, "Thank God." He laughed as people in the hallway were staring at us like maniacs. I noticed some people were whispering into each others' ears.

"They're gonna be able to handle it. And if they don't, I won't care." I smiled as we walked into the auditorium.

"Hi, uh..I signed up for the winter showcase..." The woman turned around and I was completely shocked.

"Mrs. Baker?"

"Mrs. Baker?" Char asked her chorus teacher, confused.

Mrs. Baker smiled in delight, "Oh, Charlotte! I'm so glad you're doing the showcase!" She said, hugging her.

Char fake laughed as she looked around the auditorium, seeing about 70 kids talking and socializing. She the turned towards me with wide eyes as Mrs. Baker was walking away.

"Is it too late to walk out? That's too many people." I grabbed her hand then squeezed it tightly.

"If you'd like, I'll sit in the front row. Come on, we need to sign the after school papers.

We wrote our names down, our student ID numbers, then waited for the bell to ring to start the after school program.

As we all sat down in the first 6 rows of the auditorium seats, Mrs. Baker stood in front of us.

"Hello, everyone! As most of you know, I'm the chorus teacher, Allison Baker and you all signed up for the showcase! Now, we're going to the music room down the hall, then come back here to sing on stage. After today, I'll send you all letters individually to tell you whether or not you made the audition. Let's go."

I felt Char's hand shake, and I rubbed little circles into her hand with my thumb. "It's alright, I'm here." She nodded, took a sip of water, then got up to follow Mrs. Baker.

Once we got in the chorus room, she read off the names in alphabetical order, asking for what song they're singing or the name of the song tthey're dancing to.

"What are you going to sing?" I whispered into her ear.

"You'll see."

"Excuse me Mr. Summers and Ms. Willis. I am talking." Mrs. Baker said sternly, "Sorry." We both said in unison.

"Aiden, may I talk to you?" Mrs. Baker asked, as was watching the first person sing and play guitar from the first row of chairs in the auditorium.

"Of course, what do you need?"

"I want to thank you for convincing Charlotte into performing."

I laughed, "Peer pressure."

"Are you two dating?"

My eyes widened, how would a teacher know?

"Uh..We uh-"

"It's fine, Aiden. I won't get angry."

And then I nodded, "Then yes."

The boy playing the guitar had finished as all of us laughed. He joined me and Mrs. Baker in the auditorium chairs as we both told him how good he was.

I really can't wait until I hear Char play piano and sing. It's going to be perfect.
