"Is something troubling you, Morgana?" King Uther asked as he watched his ward pick at her dinner.

She looked up and gave him a small smile, "no my lord, sorry that I can't be better dinner company."

Arthur let out a small chuckle as he sipped from his wine glass and bit into his turkey leg, "oh father, I'm sorry to tell you but the young boy still hasn't been found yet."

King Uther's smile disappeared and he sighed, anger apparent on his face, "continue the search immediately after supper. I want that boy found."

Arthur nodded and stood up, after taking one last sip from his glass, "I'm ordering my men to continue the search and then I'm going to turn in and help them in the morning. Goodnight Father," he said slightly bowing his head, "Morgana," he said turning to her and bowing his head in her direction as well. She gave a small uneasy smile and stood up, "I think I'll turn in as well."

"You've hardly eaten anything."

"I apologize my lord, but I'm not too hungry this evening."

"Are you sure that everything's alright, Morgana?" the King asked, concerned for her.

"Yes my lord, nothing sleep can not cure."

He nodded, "do feel better."

                                                                                 * * *

"How is he?" Morgana asked quietly as she joined Gwen at the boy's side.

Gwen looked at Morgana and sighed sadly, "he's developed a fever that's rapidly getting worse. When he was cut, the wound was infected and the result is this fever."

"Will he be alright?" she asked, laying a hand on the boy's forehead and quickly retracting it when she felt his temperature.

"I've done everything I can."

"We need Gaius," Morgana said, determined.

"Are you sure that that's the right way to go about this M'lady?"

"The child could die, if I have a chance to save him then I will."

                                                                              * * *

"Morgana, what're you doing in here?" Merlin asked as he walked out of his chambers and into the shop where Gaius worked.

"Waiting for Gaius, do you know where he is?"

"He's out helping a patient at the moment, can I help instead? What do you need? If it's something for your dreams, he keeps extras in this cabinet here," he said, making his way to a small oak cabinet on the far side of the room. He opened it up revealing five or six small jars of Morgana's medicines. She raised a hand slightly, "no I'm not here for my dreams. I'm here about the child," she said, voice barely above a whisper.

Merlin moved closer so that they could whisper but still be able to hear each other, "is something wrong?"

She nodded, "he's developed a fever and it's getting worse."

"How'd he get the fever?"

"An infection from the cut on his arm."

"I'll see what I can do."

"Shouldn't we let Gaius treat him?" she asked warily.

He shook his head, "I've been learning while I've lived here, no need to get him involved if I can do it myself. If what I do doesn't work, then we can call Gaius."

Morgana slowly nodded her head, "thank you, Merlin."

She then left the room and quickly walked back to her chambers to try and get some sleep.

                                                                              * * *

"Who is it?" Morgana asked as she heard a knock on her door the next morning.

"Housekeeping," a sarcastic voice replied.

Morgana left the child with Merlin behind the screen and opened up her door, "you prat, what do you want?"

"We're doing a search of all the rooms, looking for the boy."

Morgana laughed and crossed her arms, "you seriously think that he'd be in here?"

"Don't take it personally, we're searching everyone's rooms."

"No!" she said as she followed him around the room, watching him search, "I don't want you going through all my things and messing everything up like you usually do!"

"Relax Morgana, we won't be here for more than a few minutes."

She sighed and sat on her bed before getting up a few moments later with a smirk.

"I'm sure the king would love to hear how you wasted all of your time searching his ward's room. The boy's behind the screen."

Merlin heard what she said and his eyes went wide. He peered through the screen to see if anyone was coming towards him. No one was.

"No really," Morgana laughed, "the boy's behind the screen. Look. Go see for yourself, I dare you."

Arthur scrunched up his nose and sneered at her, "very funny."

He took his guards and they left the room leaving a victorious Morgana.

She walked back over to Merlin where he said, "that was close."

She nodded, "agreed, we need to get him out of here soon."

"I've been working on something for his arm, I can bring it around here soon."

"Good."
