"How much longerrr?"

"2 minutes less than when you last asked."

Ugh. I want to be in Aquaris already.

I know I sound like an annoying 5 year old, but I can't help it.This journey is taking forever.

"I'm bored."

"That's the 100th time you've said that."

"Well it's true."

I want to do something.

I think I'll sing.

"Evacuate the dance floor!"

As soon as the song words came out of my mouth, I was in complete and utter shock. It was so beautiful..

My voice..

MY voice.

I have never been THAT good at singing. And all of a sudden I sound like I could win Xfactor without even trying.

Axarion met my eye contact, again laughing at my face.

"Mermaids are known for their beautiful singing. All of them can sing amazingly. When you were turned into one, your singing voice was altered to perfection."

"..ooooooh.... That's awesome."

The quiet king just smiled and continued swimming.

Eh, at least I can be entertained by my singing.


"I'm infected by the sound!

Stop this beat is killing me!"

My gosh I love my voice. I could do this all day.

Alright, now I'm getting tired.

Axarion was right, talking can wear you out.

"Are we almost there?"

He sighed. "Aquema, I said it takes about a day to get there."

I frowned. I want to sleep. And see the city.

Then he added. "So that means we have about an hour left."

What? We have been traveling for almost a whole day?

How had I not noticed that..?

"Yaaaaaaayyy!!"

Now all I had to do was get passed this last hour..

This was gonna be tougher than I thought.

I have never been so entertained on puny unimportant things as I was now.

I kept myself busy by swimming upside down, on my back kinda, and blowing bubbles up through the water.

I couldn't even see the surface.

Wow we must be pretty deep down here.

La la la la...

And all Axarion can do is look around and hold his scary spear.

Silly Axarion.

He is such a worrywart.

Annnndddd yet again, I think the wrong thing at the wrong time.

A scream came from in front of us!

That's when I saw it.

An Eerog.

It was even more horrible that Axarion had described it.

GIANT.

It leapt out at us from behind one of the many coral reefs.

The thing stayed out for a second, sizing us up.

Then the whole world burst into action.

It's sickening green tail lashed out behind it, sparking with electricity.

Axarion darted in front if me, shielding me from the horrible thing.

Normally, I would have said 'I can take care of myself!' But I knew better. Down here, I was not used to the unexpected.

Axarion lunged forward as the thing attacked.

Wait. Now I am completely unguarded, and helpless. What the clam am I gonna do if there are more of these things!?

Just as I was about to go into a full on panic attack, the voice from earlier came back.

"They only travel alone.."

I calmed down, wondering why on earth I would believe a strange voice in my head that wasn't even my own.

Because you like what it said a lot better than what your thinking.

I think to myself too much.

Axarion ducked under the Eerog's swinging tail, and stabbed it in the side, just below the junction of the six tentacle arm thingys.

It shrieked out in pain, which turned to a growl as it got more aggressive.

Axarion tore the spear out of it, flinging the thing against a rock form made from coral.

The thing lay there, stunned.

"Aquema!"

Axarion called to me, snapping my attention away from the creature, now regaining strength.

"Hurry! Swim!"

I kicked into gear. We swam as fast as we could.

Up ahead I could see a pair of golden gates

I didn't dare look back to see if the thing was following us.

Axarion shoved me aside just as the Eerog darted between us.

It slammed into another rock, stunning himself.

We are almost to the gates!

It was back, snapping at our tips of our tails.

FASTER Aquema! FASTER!!

I pressed on, Axarion right beside me.

The guards of the gates ahead saw what was happening, and began to open the gates, spears in their hands.

Just as the thing attempted to snap my tail off, Axarion pushed me, and I went hurling through the the shimmering gold gates, Axarion right behind.

The guards slammed the gates closed as soon as we were inside.

And Axarion and I collided.

We crashed to the ground.

Then all went black.
