Piper felt the grass tickle her cheeks.
She and Jason had laid down on the grass, looking up at the sky full of stars.
She lets out a breath, threading her fingers through Jason's.
"Aren't they pretty?"
She turned to Jason, the stars reflecting off his glasses.
"Aren't they?"
He lets out a sigh, squeezing Piper's hand gently.
"Y'know, when we first started going out, I was scared."
Piper laughs. "Of what?"
"That I might do something unromantic and your mom would turn me into a banana slug or something."
Piper giggles. "Seriously?"
"You think I'd kid about banana slugs?"
She laughs again, leaning her head onto his shoulder.
"You'd make a cute banana slug, Sparky."
"You haven't called me that since forever."
"Miss it?"
Jason smiles, the scar on his lip twisting.
"Yeah."
Turning his head, he planted a kiss on Piper's cheek.
Piper smiled and tilted her head, pressing their lips together.
When they pulled apart, she asked, "Did you miss that too?"
Jason smiles, leaning in. "Yeah."
