so. the chapters onwards have not been edited -- so, laurel's a brunette, she's still friends with roman and harleen and just... tolerates them being death eater enthusiasts?? DIVIDED THEY FORGET


     JUNE 1978. THREE minutes past five.

     In the evening, she meant. When the sun was yet to set, but the darkness had crept so maliciously into her life that the setting sun and rising moon was barely a change in scenery. Laurel couldn't feel her stomach drop but rather felt the need to step closer to her eldest brother, like they were stronger when united.

     It was almost as if the war hadn't taught her anything.

     "Laurel, it's nice to see you," said Barty Sr., speaking like the officer of a prison wishing a happy birthday to the most hated of convicts. Laurel, at that moment, noticed the cut along Aster's cheekbone, which had been messily stitched up, probably by his own hand. She felt the need to hug her brother, even if she had spent the past year despising his views and actions. "Aster, like we were saying..."
