"What are you doing here?" I squeaked as Marcus continued to stroke the hair on my head. His eyes burned through me as he watched me squirm.
"Thought I'd see how my girls were getting on," he smirked, stepping away a few feat to let Melissa wrap her arms around his waist. He was wearing a black leather jacket (something I decided must be popular among the immortals), along with dark jeans and a black t-shirt.
"We're doing just fine," Melissa smiled, "aren't we Jessica?"
I started to back away from the two of them, but when I turned around they were standing in front of me again, blocking my path.
"Have you seen Kyle around?" Marcus asked, "I've been meaning to catch up."
"You've just missed him," Melissa sighed disappointedly, "he didn't look too good either...did he Jessica? He looked slightly...hurt about something..."
"Stop it," I demanded, feeling the anger boil in my blood as they mocked me. They were deliberately doing this to me to try and hurt me more.
"I guess it was one of those bad break up's?" Marcus said as he sucked the air into his mouth, clicking his touge to one side of his cheeks, "those are always the tricky ones."
"Why," I asked, feeling myself shaking with sadness and guilt, "why did you make me do it?"
I watched as Marcus retracted his arm from around Melissa, and started walking over to me with his hands in his denim jeans pockets. "Because everyone has their time, Jessica," he replied, "Kyle has had this coming to him ever since the examination day. I'm just giving him the nudge."
"How will it make you any better if he's in imprisonment?" I snapped, "or that I had to break his heart?"
Marcus snorted and started laughing at me, almost doubling over. "Jessica, you crack me up!" he gasped in-between laughs, "break his heart? The poor thing! I hope he doesn't suffer too much!"
I felt the anger boil up inside of me, and I felt myself walking forward to Marcus. I summed up the courage and slapped him harshly across the cheek.
"You are one sick coward you know that?" I spat, watching as his dark glare moved towards me.
He grabbed my wrist harshly, making me squirm with pain. "Do you not remember what went down the last time someone didn't do what I said?" he asked as he raised his other hand, both of us watching the red light swirl around his fingers from his palm and around his wrist, almost like a snake.
"One flick of a wrist is all it takes Jessica," he threatened, digging his nails into the soft skin of my wrist harshly.
"What do you want with me?" I whispered. He and Melissa already made me break up with Kyle, I had done what he had asked, so what could he possibly want now? To kill me?
He leaned closer to me, abusing my personal space as he whispered into my ear.
"I want you to come with me."
My eyes widened as I saw the expected smirk appear on his lips. "W-Why?" I asked.
He dimmed his red light and let go of my wrist, backing away a few feat until he was near Melissa again. I rubbed my wrist as I caught a glimpse on the indents on my skin, stinging everytime I brushed my thumb over them.
"Because I could use another addition to my team!" Marcus said enthusiastically, "you'd be great. The guys would like you, and if we ever had any business to take care of on earth, you could be like our under-cover agent."
"Are you being serious?" I asked in horror, "I will never go with you!"
He snorted as he started to fill the gap of space between us, creeping along like a pather to its prey. "Jessica, when am I not serious?" he asked, "I thought you would have known by now that I don't joke about serious matters."
"I'm not going with you," I protested, "never in a million years will I go with you."
"I've got time," he shrugged, chuckling at his own joke. "Don't say things that you know you can't commit Jessica."
He grabbed my wrist and started to pull me forward with him. I didn't notice that the ground had been opened, like a pathway had been made for us into the unknown. Somewhere into the ground.
No, this couldn't be it! I couldn't be dragged by Marcus's to be a victim! I couldn't be trapped!
"No!" I said, "let me go!"
"Now you realise that you can't get out of this, huh?" he asked as Melissa held onto my other wrist, holding me in a similar vice like grip.
"Don't! Please!" I screamed as I tried to dig my feet into the ground, watching as the pathway was becoming closer and closer to the three of us.
"Kyle!" I screamed defeatedly, knowing that he wouldn't come no matter how many times I screamed. I was getting desperate, and Kyle would have normally saved me by now. I was about to be kidnapped by Marcus and no one could help me in my most desperate hour.
Marcus laughed an evil bad guy laugh. "He won't be coming to your rescue this time Jessica," he said, placing his other hand on the small of my back to lead me further into my trap.
With one last hopeful glimpse behind me, I felt myself being engulfed into the light and my eyes fluttering shut with the force of it.
"We'll wake you up when it's over," Marcus whispered in my ear before pressing on a soft part of my neck, finally making me unconscious.
