So... Thanks again for deciding to read my little story here. Yeah... Enjoy.

Emma's POV:

"So what's happening hun?" Carrie, my best friend, said sitting down across from me at our lunch table.

"Not much, what about you 'hun'?" I said laughing.

"Well, you know Jameson? Yeah, I am pretty sure that he was checking me out in gym today. Not saying I asked him about it, but you could see it on his smug little face."

"Wow, what a crazy time you seem to have had," I say taking a bite out of my BLT Sandwich.

"Oh, are we still on for tomorrow?"

"What's tomorrow?"

"You have got to be kidding me! Tomorrow is our girls night out shopping trip. Duh!"

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry Carrie, I can't. I am so sorry, I got this project in biology today and I have to work on it tomorrow."

"Can't you just work on it later? This is our annual shopping adventure we're talking about!"

"Ugh, I'm sorry Carrie, but I already made plans with my partner. Can we please just push back our 'shopping adventure' to next week?"

"Only because I love you so. Now partner? Did I here that you have a partner? Who is it? Is he hot?"

Before I could answer, two large arms wrapped around me and familiar lips were pressed into my cheek.

"Why of course I'm hot, haven't you seen me?" Brian, my boyfriend said as he unlocked his arms and took the seat next to me.

"Oh, get a room you two," Carrie groaned from across the table.

Giving Brian a kiss on the cheek, I said, "Carrie, there is nobody hotter than Brian."

Both me and Carrie burst into laughs.

"But for real, who is it?" Carrie whined.

"It's Dylan, he seems pretty nice."

"I know you're not talking about Dylan Wright," Carrie said, her face becoming stern.

"What? Why not?"

"He is the loser that spilled spaghetti all over my brand new dress last year! He stained it permanently!"

"Carrie, I'm sure it was an accident, he didn't seem like he would purposely pour spaghetti on anyone."

Okay, so maybe Carrie is a little bit dramatic. And maybe she holds a few grudges, but what can I say, she's my best friend.

"Fine, maybe you can like him, but he's not coming anywhere near me," Carrie said with a huff, crossing her arms.

"Guess what happened babe," Brian said.

"What?"

"You know that kid Charlie?"

"Yeah," I said hesitantly.

"Did you know that he fits all the way into the gym lockers?"

"What? How do you know this? Please tell me that you didn't do it."

"What, why would you accuse me of that babe, he did it all on his own. I didn't even touch him."

"If you say so," I said, taking another bite out of my sandwich.

I looked across the cafeteria and saw Dylan sitting at a table in the corner, reading a book.

"I'll be right back," I said getting up, heading over to Dylan's table.

Weird, he's sitting by himself. Huh.

"Hey," I said to him.

He looked up from his book and looked at me, flustered.

"What?" he said, obviously confused.

"I said 'hey'."

"Oh," he said putting his book down, "Hey."

"I was wondering, I didn't get your address for tomorrow," I said sitting down across from him.

"Oh, uh, right," he said as he pulled out a piece of paper from his bag sitting on the floor. "It's 27 Neville Street," he said as he wrote it down.

He handed it to me.

"Thanks," I said as I looked down at his handwriting, "Nice penmanship by the way."

"Wh- oh, um, thanks," he mumbled looking down at the table.

"You'd be surprised how few guys these days know how to write legibly," I said, chuckling.

He laughed slightly and looked up at me.

"Well, I'll see you later," I said as I stood up.

"Hey, bozo!" someone shouted over at us from across the room.

"Are you hitting on my girl?!?" Brian said marching over to us.

Oh, no

"Wh-what?" Dylan stuttered out, looking up at Brian now standing over him.

"Brian-" I started, but was interrupted by him cutting me off with his hand.

"I asked you a question, skinny!"

"Wha- no!" Dylan answered.

Brian grabbed Dylan by the shirt and pulled him up to him.

"Are you sure about that? 'Cause toothpick, if you're lying, you're gonna wish all I'm gonna do is smash your face in."

Complete terror was rising in Dylan's face as he stared up at Brian.

"N-no! W-we have a --we have a project!" he cried.

"Brian, stop! He wasn't-" I started.

"Emma I said stay out of this," Brian fumed.

"Brian he's my partner! Put him down!" I yelled.

Brian looked at me, and slowly lowered Dylan back down to his seat.

"Another day then," Brian said, as he brushed off Dylan's shoulder.

Brian walked off, finding his way back to our table.

"Dylan, I'm so-"

"Yeah," he mumbled and grabbed his things and quickly hustled out of the cafeteria.
