{ (F/N) : (Boy) Friend Name }

----

Nineteen Years Ago...

Rain poured down in a torrent. The dark stormy clouds rolled across the sky. Everything was pitch black.

All the residents of Eloa Village locked themselves up inside their homes. The storm had been raging on for days. Some thought it would never end. There were floods in some areas. Others had oversized puddles in the streets. The rain continued to roar in their ears, falling so hard it was almost like hail. Everything was barely visible.

In the dark of the night, a man walked through narrow alleyways. His hands held a small bundle which he protected from the harsh rain. He went all the way to the South Edge of the town. People in their homes saw him passing and quickly pulled the curtains of their windows closed. They were fearful of what lurked in the dark. And they couldn't tell who or what he was.

But the man held no fear. He was a pirate after all. No one dared cross his path. He was powerful, though he did have health problems that would continue to get worse in the future. But that didn't stop him from protecting those he cared for deeply.

He looked down at the bundle lovingly, smiling a bit. But he had to remind himself not to get too attached and that he'd see her once again in the future. His heart still ached no matter what he told himself. He didn't want to be separated from his own daughter.

He finally reached a small building. It was a bit rundown but he assured himself it was safe. The streetlights flickered. After a few minutes of debating, he sighed, gave in and knocked swiftly on the door.

He waited a few moments until the old, wooden door swung open. It creaked eerily and he was met with a musty, damp smell. A woman in her thirties stood before him. She was smoking a cigarette, her frizzy red hair framing her face. She glowered at him with her dark eyes though behind that it was visible that she was surprised.

"What the hell are you doing out here in this rain?" She spat, crossing her arms.

"Do you not recognize me?" The man asked.

He lifted the hood that shadowed his face. The woman froze, eyes widening. Her cigarette fell to the ground, dying out in the rain.

"W-what—" She sputtered.

"May I come inside?" He asked politely.

She slowly stepped aside, letting him pass through. He walked into the small, crowded kitchen and made his way to the living room. It held a fairly new, leather arm chair along with a coffee table and bookshelf. There was only one window. He looked through the door, back into the kitchen and saw a spiraling set of stairs in the corner.

He finally turned back to the woman. "You must take care of my daughter." He demanded.

"W-what?!" She screeched, her jaw dropping open, still trying to process everything.

He gently put the small bundle into the woman's arms. Confused she looked down. After pulling the warm blanket aside a bit, she gasped as she was met with wide, (E/C) eyes along with a sheathed dagger and a letter lying beside the small figure.

The woman didn't speak for a few minutes. She repeatedly opened her mouth to say something but closed it the next. Finally after a minute, she looked back up into the man's eyes.
