Eyes

I was innocent in my youth,

Amazed when I lost my first tooth.

I worried little about life,

Wanting to be like my father's wife.

I was so innocent then,

But all changed when I turned ten.

I wished to be older,

Just a little bit bolder,

And now I know so much,

Some I never thought of the such.

Love can be cruel.

Who made up these rules?

Different is my life,

As I tightly grip the knife.

I wanted to be older,

Just a little bit bolder,

But now I don't want it anymore.

I wish to be like before,

When my eyes innocently glowed,

And my feelings weren't for showed.

I wish to again believe in everything,

And listen again to the birds that do sing.

We all wish to grow older,

Just a little bit bolder,

But it's better to be a child,

Because then your life will turn wild.
