I woke up the next morning with an extremely sore back, thanks to the couch, and the fact I couldn't sleep last night. I wasn't sure why I felt like such garbage, but I did. So I slowly got up, and headed to the kitchen, reminding myself I needed to make coffee, only to find a note on the counter.

"Shawn,
Thank you so much for letting me stay the night. This is on the back of a receipt because I can't find a damn piece of paper in this whole place. Anyways- I had a lot of fun last night (to my surprise.) I wanted to let you know that I made your bed, and made coffee just to thank you. I'm not sure I made the coffee right because I don't drink it, so if I fucked up I'm really sorry 'bout that. I'm going on vacation for three weeks (sooooo excited) and so I will not be available, but feel free to text me - we are friends after all, right? So, once again, thank you for caring for me last night.
Yours,
Pepper"

I smiled as I finished reading the note, and found the coffee in the microwave, probably to keep it warm. I took the mug out and made it according to my taste, before grabbing a bowl of cereal, and heading out to the porch. She would be gone for three weeks, which meant.... Oh damn it. I groaned looking at the booking in my phone. The MMVA's were being held in Toronto this year, and I was supposed to be there, performing, which meant I would need some sort of date, or press would be hounding me. I decided against it, thinking that I would go stag. There was nothing wrong with that.

There's a lot wrong with going stag, I've learned. Addison had been distracting me at these events, and I forgot how much I used to get anxious with these things. Thankfully the show was in Canada, so I was able to be with my family, and I got to drive my own car to the event. But it felt so weird to be on my own again. It had only two events though. I shook it off, and got on with pictures and interviews before watching the show. I wasn't really aware of things that were going on, so when I heard my name next to Camila's, I was in a state of surprise. Camila. I cursed to myself as I climbed up stage to meet with the short brunette. We hugged, just for press sakes while we made our speeches. When I was finally finished with the acceptance, I had to get ready for a performance for Treat You Better, and I eventually did so. It was near the end of the show, so when I went backstage, I came across Camila - again. I swear this girl was everywhere.

"Shawn-" I turned around and saw her standing there, a small smile on her face. "You did great."

"Thanks." I nodded awkwardly, and she sighed.

"I spoke with your dad." This came as a surprise to me.

"Why were you talking to my dad? Better yet why do you have his number?" I asked, defending him.

"Andrew gave me it - besides the point. He told me about Samantha." She stated crossing her arms, as someone shouted at her. "We'll talk later?" I hesitated to answer, but I nodded slowly in response.

It wasn't until much later that I finally got a text from her.

"Cam: so y did u hire this girl?"

"I turn 20 in August. Andrew thought it should look like I was dating someone. Press shit."

"Cam: don't say that :( ur growing up too fast. Well I guess that makes sense.... Doesn't explain why I saw you kissing her."

Addison was right, she had seen us.

"Cams, are you jealous? Hmmmmm?"

"Cam: NO!! Just curious..."

I smiled softly looking at the message. I looked to the window, and caught a glimpse of Addison's note on the counter. What would she have to say about me texting her? She would probably tell me to give her my phone... Startled, I looked back to the phone that shook in my hand for a second.
