The sunlight tickled my eyes as the sun had risen far in the sky and lit up the entire room with an yellow orange glow. I could hear the sound of my mom vacuuming the hallway and my dad watching the tv. I turned to my side and saw the time on my clock.

11:00 a.m.

Thank goodness for wonderful weekends to sleep in. I bundled myself back into my cozy blankets until something odd caught my eye. I sat up in my bed and clenched the soft thin fabric of the dark blue blanket. Then, all at once the memories of last night came crashing on top of me like the waves of an ocean.

Hunter came to me very late last night. He explained his disappearance, and asked for me to join him. And just like that, he disappeared all over again.

My mind gathered all of its thoughts and turned in circles, making me feel sick to my stomach. Hunter wanted me, out of all people on this planet, to be with him. However, i didn't know how to feel.

Did I want to leave my family, leave my entire life behind, for Hunter?

It seemed impossible for me to ever consider this, but a small part of my heart clenched on to him like my hands did on his blanket.

Hours passed by, each minute getting more intense for me to think. What was even worse, was that I couldn't choose. I needed something, a sign that would help me choose what path I need to take. At this moment I remembered something very valuable that I always kept a secret from everyone but myself. I flipped my head over and reached my arms under the bed to grab a shoe box. I took a deep breath as my hands gently took off the lid and my eyes glanced inside the box. They reached in to grab a silver pendant necklace. My hands brought it close to my heart as tears started to form in my eyes and fall down my cheeks. I silently sobbed and felt the pain of missing someone so dear to me. My fingers softly felt the pendent as i remembered to moment he gave it to me

"Open it," Hunter told me, smirking as he handed me a small box wrapped in ribbon.

"Hunter, what did u get me?" I asked smiling and feeling curious while holding his hand.

"Open it and find out," he replied as he squeezed my hand in reassurance. I opened up the box and gasped as my eyes laid on the most beautiful necklace I have ever seen.

"I added sapphires in the pendent because it's your birth gemstone. It's nothing really, I--"

"I love it," I whispered in his ear as I took him in a close embrace and my eyes glimmered with emotion.

I took the necklace and placed it around my neck, admiring the most amazing gift I will ever receive.

This was the sign I was looking for, the thing that would help me find the answer to which path to take.

More hours have passed as I sat around my room taking in the things I love and hold dear to me. I brought my backpack out from the closet and started to fill it with clothes, essentials, and lots of money. My heart started to panic as I felt the pressure building on me as each minute passed on the clock. The realization that I was leaving was hitting me, and hitting me hard. I couldn't say goodbye to my parents, my brother, or even my best friend Eden.

My mind switched gears and immediately thought of something I almost forgot. I ran to my desk and grabbed a piece of paper and a pen to write with. I was going to write a letter to explain my disappearance.

Dear Mom, Dad, Wyatt, Eden, and anyone else to whom this may concern,

I'm disappearing from this life I was given to take a new path in life and embark on a different type of journey. I am sorry I have chosen to leave, but it's a chance I'm willing to take. I love you all, and I want you to know that I am okay. The guilt that I am currently holding is too much for me to ever tell u in person. Please understand, I love you.

Aureylian

I placed the note on my pillow and looked at the time.

11:48 p.m.

He would be coming sometime soon.

I heard knocking at my door and felt a surge of fear before running through my room to hide the note and backpack. I opened the door a crack to see who knocked, but my eyes traveled down to see my cat meowing and inching it's way into my room. I closed the door and picked up my cat in one motion, holding on to her like I was never going to let go. At least I can say goodbye to her, i thought to myself.

As I placed her on my bed and pet her as she purred in pleasure, I heard the tapping on my window once again. I shot up from my bed and made my way to the window to unlock the latch and pull it up. I stick my head out and looked in all directions, but there was no sign of Hunter. My heart started to sink in sadness and loneliness as I sat on my windowsill waiting for him to appear. It seemed like hours have passed when it's only been one. Where was he?

My eyelids started to grow heavy on my eyes and I could feel my head starting to slouch on my hand. My entire body was in a state of sleep when I heard a noise.

"Aurey?"

"Aureylian."

"Aurey, wake up,"

My eyelids shifted open as I looked up to see Wyatt's face staring at mine, and force of panic overwhelmed my emotions.

His arms gracefully picked me up from the window and carried me to my bed.

"Why are you still dressed? And your room is a mess." He stated as I turned in my bed and mumbled nothing.
I opened my eyes once more to see that he left the room and closed the door behind him. I turned to the clock to read the time.

1:03 a.m.

Why hasn't Hunter come yet?
