Different Case Scenario

Sans is just close to beating Frisk, but he falls asleep in the middle of that. Frisk finds that the MERCY button is glowing. Do it, Frisk told herself, but her Chara self said FIGHT.

Fighting off Chara's command, Frisk pounded on the MERCY button with all her might. (Holy god is breaking the fourth wall really Toby Fox's thing?) The *Spare button is yellow, meaning that Frisk is allowed to spare Sans. Or maybe surrender to Chara and step on the FIGHT button. But what happens if she just gives mercy. . .?

Welp.

". . .I spare you," Frisk muttered.

Only those three words woke up Sans and widened his eyes.

". . ."

"I'm serious. I do."

". . ."

"I'm sorry. . ."

Frisk remembered all the stuff that happened before she reset. Bringing everyone to the surface, befriending sweet Asriel, getting past Omega Flowey and Asgore, boosting Mettaton's ratings, meeting Alphys for the first time, meeting and befriending Undyne, that date with Papyrus, meeting humorous Sans on the Snowdin gateway, the emotional goodbyes with Toriel, and her waking up in the bed of flowers. Now she wished she hadnt reset.

While Frisk was thinking, however, Sans already understood. He offered Frisk two options: to delete her genocide run file and reset, or leave Sans alone. You might think that it's an easy choice; but you already know the result when sparing Sans. Frisk seemed to know that, too.

So she reset and found herself again in the bed of golden flowers.

But somehow, all the monsters' memories are still here.
