I sighed. "I really said that, didn't I?" I asked dreadfully. Ponyboy just nodded. "Well," I laughed, "I'm not gonna deny it."
Pony sat up straighter. "You really are?" He asked; I could see a spark in his eyes. I grinned. "Yeah. I really do really like you, Ponyboy." Pony smiled. I did too, his smile was contagious. "I have some good news for you, then," he let out in a sigh. I sat up, which was a mistake. I immediately felt nauseous and laid back down.
"Well," I grinned, "What's the news? Are you madly in love with me, too?" I asked teasingly. He laughed. "Yes, actually," he said quietly.
Silence.
I sat up, despite my head spinning. We caught each other's eyes, and I could hear Sodapop whistle from the other room. "Shut up, Soda!" Ponyboy shouted playfully. We still held each other's gazes, but it wasn't ask awkward as it sounds.
Then, Ponyboy kissed me.
