"I bet that I can beat you at ping pong." Jonathan challenges me as he takes a drink of his water bottle.
We are currently in his kitchen without anything to do. I came here with my boyfriend, Patrick, but he has yet to be seen since we got here.
"Excuse me, do you even know who I am?" I tease him. "No one beats me at ping pong."
"Besides me." He says. I narrow my eyes towards him. He's asking for it.
"Alright, Tazer. You're on." I accept his challenge and we go to the basement where the ping pong table is set up.
We start playing and Jonathan takes the lead quite quickly, but I come back ahead pretty soon after. The game is tied, and it's my turn to serve.
"Whoever gets this point wins." Jonathan says, looking as focused as ever.
I serve the ball so quickly that Jonathan has a late reaction to his swing. The ball hits in the square adjacent to mine and bounces off the table.
"Ha!" I raise my hands in victory. "I win!" I do a little victory dance and stick my tongue out at Jonathan.
"You cheated!" His face is full of anger, and I immediately run the opposite direction.
He chases after me down the hall, and me being my clumsy self, I trip over my own two feet. Jonathan was so close behind me that he didn't have time to stop, so he tripped over me and landed on top of me.
We both groan in pain before realizing how clumsy we both are. We burst into a fit of laughter, still on the ground. I'm laughing so hard that I turn on my side, and I see two feet standing right near my head.
"What is this?" Patrick yells down at us.
"Pat, we just fell." I try to explain. "It was an accident, we were just-"
"Save it, (Y/N)." He yells. "I know you two like each other, so why don't you just leave me alone and date Jon." He turns around and leaves the house.
"Patrick!" I untangle myself from the mess we've created and chase after him. "Wait! Please, hear me out." I rush over to his car and get into the passenger seat.
"I don't want to hear you out." He says as he starts the engine. "If you like Jonathan just tell me."
"I don't like him!" I say as Patrick starts driving.
"I don't believe you, (Y/N)." He tells me. "I saw the way you two were looking at each other. And considering that Jon already likes you-"
"What are you even talking about?" I interrupt him.
"Jonathan likes you. I thought you knew?" He asks. "Or maybe you're just playing me."
"I'm not playing you, Pat. I promise." I sulk in my seat, knowing I made a mistake by being alone with Jonathan.
I didn't know he liked me. If I knew, I would have never put myself in that situation. But Patrick also should have known better than to leave me with him.
We pull into the driveway and Patrick turns off the engine. The silence is deafening.
"Please, (Y/N). Tell me if you have feelings for him."
"Patrick, for the last time— I don't have any feelings for him!" I shout, causing the silence to become even louder. "Sometimes..." I begin. "Sometimes I feel like you look for ways to break up with me. I-I feel like you don't want me anymore." I tear slips from my eye, and Patrick notices.
He doesn't say anything, but I can tell he's hurt by my words. We walk up to the door together, and he lets me enter in the house first. I hear the door close, before I'm being turned around, my back pressed against the wall.
His lips are just a few inches away from my face, and he looks into my eyes. I've never seen him look at me with such sadness, nor sorrow before.
He roughly crashes his lips onto mine, and presses himself against me. I don't think I could be any closer to the wall if I tried to be. His hands grip my hips, pulling them towards him.
He deepens the kiss when I start to slow down. He is the only guy that can make me feel like the best girl in the world.
He pulls his lips away from mine just slightly. We both are breathing heavy, trying to catch our breath.
"Don't you ever feel like I don't want you." He looks in my eyes. "I want you every single minute of every single day."
"Patrick, I love you and only you." My breaths are still loud. "There is no one else who could be able to pull me away from you. Absolutely no one."
He smiles and apologizes to me. "I love you." His lips find mine, and I'm once again caught up in his kiss.
