Chapter Seventy: Goodbye, Pure Little Pup

I walk out of the pack house and into the beautiful garden. I walk across the garden bare footed, smiling for a moment at the soft feeling on my feet before coming to a stop. I glance up at the starry night sky and a sad smile appeared on my face.

'Step one you say we need to talk, 

He walks, you say sit down it's just a talk'

"Hey Mum, Dad. It's been a long time" I spoke out loud, my voice calm as I continue to watch the night sky above me.

'He smiles politely back at you,

You stare politely right on through'

"A lot of things have happened since we last talked" I continued, my voice low.

'Some sort of window to your right,

as he goes left and you stay right'

"Our old territory was attacked. They destroyed everything. The main pack house, the pack hospital...our house. I was devastated. Our home was ruined."

'Between the lines of fear and blame,

You begin to wonder why you came'

"But no one cared for me after you two left. I was a burden on our pack and for that I was bullied."

'Where did I go wrong?

I lost a friend'

"They kicked me, punched me, humiliated me. They hated me so much and I didn't know why. I didn't know what I could do to fix it. Where did I go wrong?

'Somewhere along in the bitterness,

And I would have stayed up with you all night.'

"I wanted to die."

'Had I known how to save a life.'
