Rain was something you didn't like. It made it harder for people to get around, the thunder and lightning scared you, and the only good thing about it is that the plants benefit from the water. The moment you heard thunder near the coffee place you worked at, you jumped out of your skin while spilling all the coffee.
"_____!" Dino called. You took slow breaths before picking the cups up and getting a mop to clean up the steaming drink off the floor. "Are you okay?"
"I don't like the rain," you mumbled as he escorted you in the backroom. Your hands were burnt from the coffee, but the pain was irrelevant as your heart twitched and was hyper due to the rain outside.
"You have to be careful," he nagged.
"I can't help it," you whined. He looked at you from cleaning up your hands. Never had he ever heard you whine before. "I can't help my whining either."
"Wow. I didn't think your whining would be adorable," he commented, smiling by himself as he started to apply the medicine.
"Don't try to complement me to make me feel better. I'm still shak-" the roar of thunder it once more and you let out a yelp gripping his hands. Dino came up to you to give a hug as your body started to shake and the color departed from you face.
"It's going to be alright," he whispered.
"How are you so sure?" you asked gripping the back of his t-shirt while resting your head on his shoulder.
"You got me, right?" he questioned.
"Mhm," you hummed. His warmth and scent enveloped you as you felt a sense of serenity with him. "Hey, Chan?"
Dino replied immediately. You rarely call Dino by this real name. "Yeah?"
"I'm sorry that I didn't give you a reply yet. I just didn't want to ruin our friendship. Is your confession still up to date?"
"Of course it is. And I think it always will be," he replied as you untangled yourself from him.
"I think I really, really, really like you," you said as your cheeks burned up and you had to look away at the end.
"That's all I needed to hear," he said with a victorious simile.
The door opened to reveal the manager. "Come on lovebirds. Your shifts are over."
"Alright. Thank you sir," Dino replied as you stood there with you face tinted like the sun at dawn. Exiting the back room, you looked outside to see light rain.
"See you tomorrow," you spoke before putting on your hood.
"No umbrella?" he asked. Shaking your head you started walking to your apartment complex. The rain stop as you reached the crosswalk. Looking up you saw an umbrella and Dino holding it.
"I don't want you to get soaked on your way home," he mumbled rubbing the back of his neck.
"Thank you." He pulled you closer to avoid the rain falling anywhere near you. Maybe the rain isn't so bad... you thought.
