Baking a cake with Minghao when he mistakenly puts salt instead of sugar so the cake ends up being a bit salty.
"One second." You are behind Minghao as you are fixing his apron. There are bowls and baking ingredients on the table while his hands are playing and tapping on the edges of the chair. When you finish, you smile at it. "There."
He hugs you when he turns around. His forehead touches yours as he looks into your eyes. "Thank you." You smile at him as he scribbles your hair. "Let's get started."
You start to put everything in the batter and mixing it. Minghao sees you struggling and walks over to you after watching you do everything.
"You want some help?" He comes behind you and wrap his arms around you. You don't realize how cold it was in the kitchen until his feel his warming your back. Just then, you remember something.
"I forgot to preheat the oven. Could you help me add sugar to it?" While you are doing that, Minghao doesn't realize he added salt instead of sugar. He smiles and stirs the batter when you walk back to him.
"Does it look weird or is it just me?" You ask, looking at the batter and turning your head to the side.  Minghao sniffs at it, bring it closer to his face.
"No, I don't think so?" Minghao frowns then he looks at you then he laugh, "Don't worry. I didn't do anything to it."
"Okay, I got it." You smile then you give him a round baking pan so he can pour the batter into it. After that, you set it into the oven and closes it before taking your oven mitts off. You set it on the table and head over to the living room to rest with Minghao on the couch. You notice his closed eyes and whisper, "Are you tired?"
"No." He gets up quickly and sees you at his side. You frown when you see his tired eyes.
"You didn't have to lie."
"You caught me." He wraps his arms around you again and rests his head on your shoulder then you give him a peck and smile to assure him with.
"Hey, don't fall asleep~" You giggle. Minghao hums in return then few minutes later, the timer rings. You get up and walk over to the kitchen with him holding onto your shoulder. His eyes are barely open as he sits down, watching you take out the cake. He helps open the wrapped bowl of whip cream that you both made before when you bring it over after setting the cake down. You lean in closer to the cake and smile at the smell of it. You take a bite of it then you stop and look at Minghao.
"What?" He sees your weird face then he walks over and takes a bite too. He cringes, "What to do? It tastes a bit salty."
"Did you add salt into this?" You ask then he pouts like a puppy.
"Sorry." He pretends to sniff then you pat his hair with a smile. You hug him and without him noticing, you dip a finger into the cream bowl then when you move back, you smear it on his cheek.
"Hey!" Minghao calls out then you start to run around the table as he chases after you.
"That's for putting salt instead of sugar!" You continue to giggle.
"I'm tired!" He grumbles after stopping and leans his hand on the table. He takes a breath and demands, "Let's just make a new cake."
"Not until you catch me~" You try to go pass him but he pulls you to him, holding you tightly so you can't leave.
"I caught you." Minghao softly smiles then he smears some cream from his face to yours with a finger. "There, payback." Your cheeks burn as you stare into his eyes, embarrassed on how close you both are. Then he continues, "Let's go make a new one. I promise, this time, it won't be salty." He gives you a clear nod, "Trust me."
You smile before following behind him as you both begin to clean the table to make a new cake.
