THE YEAR OF DEATH

The longing bird
Sighed and perched
Pretended to look for more
But the blinking eyes
Couldn't hold back anymore
It mourned over the lifeless leaves
The silent bark
The unfaithful scene
It sat on the branch
Next to the moon
Two vacant seats
Holding back screams
Crowded rooms
White serenity
It tried to call but whimpered voice
And all was quiet, no friends no choice
It flew across the sky
But it didn't bring pleasure anymore
The companions did fly
But now it was all alone
What was its fault?
What was its destiny?
It cried and cried
Till there were tears no more
Smeared cheeks
Bloody nails
All the prayers
All gone in vain
Even darkness couldn't diminish
The memory of their smiles,
The immature skirmishes
Still echoes through time
It waited for long, waits still
The childhood trips , it relives in reveries.
The shouts, screams, stupid dares
Entwined together
Like threads woven on paper
They were never apart
Resonated love from their child-like hearts
And it shall meet them very soon
Maybe not today, not tomorrow, but soon,oh so soon
Because they breathed from the same air
Because They had burnt from the same flair
They had grown up together
In the same garden, the same nest
Now their friendship
Was put to this test
Their wings fitted perfectly
Like they were meant to be
They were the best companions
That there will ever be.
